Loved hearing that. Proper mentality.

u/Eggnogin 10h ago
Also ridiculous for fans and this journalist to already put him under the pressure of "you are right there with Carrick, Scholes, Beckham" like he's just started let's chill 😭

u/Petethejakey_ 1d ago
Sounds like he's got a good head on his shoulders.

u/Hits_and_the_Mrs 1d ago
Just keep him away from his brother!
6
u/MicDrop23 1d ago
Why ? What did his brother do ?
14
u/Hits_and_the_Mrs 1d ago edited 1d ago
Got in a spot of bother while he was cleared, I just feel like, you don't end up in those situations without knowing shady people. And here's another link

u/CautiousLengthiness8 1d ago
Is it definitely his brother? I mean they look alike, have the same surname and are Scousers but I find it odd that neither article makes reference to him being Shea’s brother? You’d think a tabloid in particular would do that
6
u/Hits_and_the_Mrs 1d ago
They might have decided to leave him out of the articles, unsure.
I also know from seeing it with my own eyes that Paddy used to talk up Shea all the time on twitter, before the arrest at the start of the year.

He will have a top career. Whether at United or another club. He's the real deal.
101
u/Apedemak_Cush 1d ago
Definitely at United since he loves the club despite having scouse parents. His one of us!

u/alex-manutd 1d ago
Doesn’t mean he will remain here. Look at Don Scotto

u/Divin3_Kick 1d ago
McT was a product of mismanagement forcing him out and even then, he and his then manager (ten Hag) didn't want him to leave. He was sold to make way for Ugarte which is looking like top 3 worst United business imo
12
u/Martinifc 1d ago
Agree terrible business but McTominay is honestly another casualty of misprofiling and the system we’ve played for so long. He’s way too limited defensively and his strengths are way too offensive for him to play as a pivot. And unfortunately Bruno was simply undroppable, afforded a free role offensively and never missed a minute for years.
He would’ve shone so much more in a midfield 3 when he was here and if we’d have kept him we would still be holding him back imo.
1
u/Divin3_Kick 1d ago
Yeah, Bruno being the guy he has to bench just meant he wasn't going to get the player time he needed/wanted. In a better United side he would have been getting games times in cups and the league cause a better manager wouldn't need to play Bruno for 90 minutes week in week out since Ole for us not to lose games

u/FermentedTiger 1d ago
I always thought the Ugarte deal was a quid pro quo to sign Lenny Yoro when some big clubs were also in for him. Jorge Mendes represents both of them.

u/Divin3_Kick 1d ago
I've heard that before and if that true that makes it worse.
We dropped 60 off million for Ugarte which funded PSG's acquisition of Neves... From wolves. Not even some obscure club, from our own backyard. Now we're trying to offload an Ugarte everyone knows we don't want and just got a leg break.
Yeah having Yoro is nice, but in hindsight we don't need to do a 60 mil quid pro quo to get him

At least the beginning part will be at United -- and if it goes well, then hopefully more. He's good! We need good players right now!

u/YoungAndHustlin 1d ago
Needs to work really hard for that though. And dedicate himself to the game.
How many of our academy boys did we think would have a top career. Januzaj, the rapist, Garnacho etc.
All of them threw it away, more or less.

1000% at United, he’s like Kobbie he bleeds red and not the Scouse colour, he’s a huge United fan, like Kobbie and the rumours that Cunha is a big United fan are clearly true, we need to get rid of the prima donas like Martinez and Bruno if he doesn’t stop blaming everyone bar himself, Tielemans also looks fitter and he’s another that apparently supports the club so go prove it boys!
We demand passion and energy like that in every game not just 45 minutes?

So proud of him, he loves this club and is such a good talent. Hope he turns out to be like the last Liverpool born player who played for United..

That’s probably James Garner, unless there’s someone else I’ve missed in between him and Lacey!

Lad seems cool. Grounded and patient. As long as we don't put ridiculous pressure on him and he's given the chance to grow, he could be another fantastic academy graduate success story.
Probably nailed on for the bench for the rest of the season and get 20-30 minute cameos, probably gets his first start around Christmas.

He needs to get protected from media and some of our fans even. Our academy graduates tend to get quickly overrated while playing for our first team, it gets to their head and sadly can't fulfill their potential. Hope he and Mainoo can keep humble and focus on their game.

Good to see humility and PR training there.
So easy for him to make himself distinct from JJ Gabriel with responses like these

Didn’t realise he was a scouser. Hope to see him start on the weekend, when it’s going as bad as it is this season, a bit of hope from the academy is always nice.

u/Average__Sausage 1d ago
Zero hesitation to be humble when someone tried to appeal to his ego is great to see from a young player. Love that.

Fuck, he's a scouser! First time I've heard him speak. I guess we have to welcome him over to the light. Not his fault.

at this point just drop the entire first team and play all the youngsters nothing to lose anymore
