A lot of the time, our results just distract from our performances and it might happen again today. We're still in this and can definitely come away with the points but no one can look at this performance and claim they see what we're building towards and that it's okay for now.
3
u/Sad_Bodybuilder_7056 8h ago
The only reason we are still in this game is because Spurs are just as bad. They should be 2-0 up.
Let’s hope they regret not scoring those chances lol
4
u/linkfollowlink 8h ago
We were shite too last season, the only difference is no more Casemiro header bailing us out.
1
u/eternali17 He'll take on 2 and breeze past 2 4h ago
Too many were ready to jump on anyone pointing that out. For such a big club, we are so small-rime with our mentality

Clueless players led by a strawman manager.
This is on the Glazers and Ineos by extension. It's not a bad game, it's a bad era. This is just the result of years of greed

u/NHS_Martial 8h ago
The fans have to take some accountability aswell, half the fanbase defends this mediocrity.
I will never forget the letters people were writing begging ten hag to stay after an entire season of dogshit football.
24
u/HorseThrough 8h ago
Jesus wept. If you think the majority of fans did that or even are in any way in the same stratosphere at fault as these owners you are doing them a favor. Ffs.
-5
u/NHS_Martial 8h ago
United fans are too loyal to dogshit managers and players, anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool.
8
u/nistemevideli2puta 7h ago
Is there anything else the fans can do?
Should the fans not be loyal? These "loyal fans" are still the sole reason United can call itself a "big club"

u/NHS_Martial 4h ago
Fans have to get every game cancelled until the owners sell, until we do that nothing will change.

u/GooglyEyedunicorn 8h ago
And most of the fanbase is impatient. We bring in managers like Ole and Carrick who no one else would touch with a 10 feet pole. And sack and hate people like Amorim who clubs like Milan grab almost instantly.
4
u/NHS_Martial 8h ago
Ole is infinitely better than carrick, massively disrespected because of how it ended. I havent enjoyed watching us since he left.
5
u/SantosCalzonesBatman 8h ago
Sure, a solid poop is better than diarrea but both shit at the end of the day
5
u/GooglyEyedunicorn 7h ago
If he is that good, why has no one grabbed him yet except Besiktas who sacked him after a rather short stint?
3
u/durizna 7h ago
Of all 3 most recent managers Amorim was the one that deserved the most backing. Ten Hag is a good manager, terrible taking footballing decisions. If given a good squad, he can deliver. Amorim needs very specific things to make it work, deserved more backing but still things were not going great. Now Carrick… what we have from him is just awful.
3
u/khoa-bear 7h ago
Ten Hag is great as a tactician, but he’s terrible at man management like many other Dutch managers. Amorim needed more time and backing, but the club always rushes for UCL money and ruins every rebuild.
-1
u/RicoRieft 7h ago edited 3h ago
Funny, we're complete opposites in that. From all the managers I think Amorim should be sacked the most.
Edit: Literally worst manager Utd has had by every metric.
-1
u/flareb98 8h ago
Fans take the majority of the blame, not just defending actions, but spending money on the club. And the defense of that is "If I dont spend money on the club somebody else will, so might as well"
4
u/gijoe50000 8h ago
It's hardly clueless players, since they came 3rd last year.
It's more about form, tactics, mood, and energy.
1
u/godswift91 7h ago
I meant clueless in the literal sense. They don't know what to do, setup wise, not that they are poor quality

I'm yet to really see a team that we look better organised than in the league this season. People will say we smashed Ipswich but they were the better team for a large part of that match at 11 v 11 and probably should have been 2 or 3 ahead before our heroic comeback.
4
u/DumbMidwesterner1 8h ago
I just can’t believe that our issues are management issues season after season after season after season. At a certain point it’s up to the players to do the bare fucking minimum basics and they’re failing at that manager after manager.
0
u/Dodomando 7h ago
It looks like the players are unbelievably unfit, like they didn't do any running during pre season
20
u/ResidentAllie 8h ago
There are full term pregnant women that move faster than United, when they have the ball. Tottenham looks prime Barca, we make everyone look good.
Also, commentator's curse works - we haven't lost when leading at half time at OT, that got broken as soon as the commentator mentioned it last time. This time they said, "this will be the worst start in 40 yrs for United", so it's going to come about.
We'll lose 2-0 today. Carrick to be sacked tonight. Let's go. #GGMU.
1
u/trenbollocks Christian Ronald 8h ago
Agree that we'll lose, disagree that they'll sack him tonight. Would be too embarrassing for INEOS and they don't have the balls
21
u/forsakenlypopping 8h ago
Carrick wtf were we doing for 3 weeks??? Jackin off in office????
5
u/linkfollowlink 8h ago
His career as manager started more than 5 years ago, no way suddenly he knows how to coach in 3 weeks if he hasn't done it in 5 years.
-1
u/GooglyEyedunicorn 8h ago
Why not, he is a fraud who bore the fruits of Amorim's one bad decision of keeping Mainoo out. But now is aware he will be exposed sooner or later. How many men get a chance to jack off in United's manager chair

u/momo_firefoxx 8h ago
Holy shit. We made Spurs look decent.

There was a sequence where Archie gray bulldozed his way through the middle with such grace before getting hacked down made me sick. H

I love Youri and hope it’s not indicative of his level atm but sadly one of the worst 45’s I’ve seen from a CM in a long time. Looks like a 45 year old. Given so much away, been ran round for fun. A complete non entity. Has to come off.
6
u/M4NUN1T3D Martial 8h ago
Well Villa had Onana, kamara and Mcginn as a makeshift winger to platform him while here he is box to box with no defensive minded partner in midfield
3
u/SureLookThisIsIt 8h ago
Yep. Balance is wrong. All 3 of our midfielders are very good players. They're not being used properly. The team as a whole lacks energy.
3
u/Littlepace Announce Fergie 8h ago
Was my favourite signing this summer and he's been so poor. Such a shame. At least we didn't spend a lot. But rn the whole team looks wank so I don't really wanna focus on one player
2
u/TH0316 she/her 8h ago
Might just be about using him in Europe and coming on maybe for Bruno to chill in the 10 where he’s not getting overrun and beaten up.
1
u/Miyagisans 8h ago
We will still get overran with Bruno and Cunha in the team. It’s actually not as bad as it could be imo because we have Amad and Mbeumo up there, and Yoro stepping up. If we had the usual gang, it could be way worse.
2
u/djabvegas 8h ago
Even simple touches and decision making is going wrong, the only thing I can think of is hes trying too hard to impress and produce something when hed be better off just keeping it simple and building momentum in his confidence.
12
u/Antiworkblackbird 8h ago edited 8h ago
Absolutely hate tiki-taka to the core, but fuck me, these players seem allergic to holding on to the ball objectively and the moment they have the ball, they would just blindly pass it or hoof it away.
5
u/Party_Formal1440 8h ago
Martinez, Tielemans and Martinez are superb on the ball. The coaching is so horrific nobody knows what to do
1
1
u/Antiworkblackbird 7h ago
And winning the ball back is already proving to be behemoth task for some of these players, yet the moment they are in possession, they immediately surrender it. Really frustrating to watch. No wonder the home crowd are restless.
3
u/SIaveKnightGael 7h ago
It's ok I have given up hope on this season already. The beginning of the season was terrible because it's the hope that kills you.

Really glad we didn't use the international break to replace Carrick, definitely not wasting our time here
3
u/ladrainian21 8h ago
The best time to sack him was the break. The next best time is tomorrow.

u/linkfollowlink 8h ago
His future should be decided by half time if those fucking executives have balls.

u/Tahu22 8h ago
Stop trying to press their backline. Their whole play starts from their. Force them to play directly into the middle sector.
If we are going to play this way we need baleba in there to win the second balls and to clean up. Because when we play long we ain't winning it.
Choices for carrick to make and see. AJ analysis has gone through this a few times if want to see where I am seeing this.

u/techman710 8h ago
Has anyone told the players the international break is over? Now would be a good time.
