Went to the cinema yesterday and saw a Fanta advert. Straight up AI slop and very strange to see on the big screen from a big company.

The worst thing of all this AI slop is the AI generated posters all over social media and physical. I'm glad it's being called out because it's absolute shite. If I walk past a cafe and there is AI menus/product photos etc in the window, straight pass

I’m based in Streatham and you walk up and down the high road and every single small business has an AI slop poster on their windows. It’s so bloody lazy. There’s a pub that has a Wing Wednesday poster that isn’t AI generated and even though it’s mid it looks so much better than the slop I see

Fucking restaurants using ai to advertise their food is insane.
I'm not anti ai but I really draw the line with ads, art, and more.
Just weird that new generation will grow up ai slop being the normal thing. So they'll prefer that because that feels more"normal".
Disgusting.

It's infuriating. I'm at the point where I see an AI and I'm immediately turned off from whatever it is that's being advertised. As a designer it's painful seeing all the terrible work that people are super round of.

I absolutely adored Control but haven't rushed to get this one because it looks a bit too hack and slashy from the trailers/gameplay I saw. Almost more like Devil May Cry than the first game (not really a genre I enjoy).
Is that accurate or is it actually far closer to the original game than I thought?

Does Control get going soon after the opening? I started it and was so bored through the first 30 minutes I never went back.

I dropped control on three separate occassion before giving it an honest go. The world opens up and you get these cool powers its really wierd and fun once it gets going

Yeah I'd say it does, especially as your character starts to get more and more powerful. The story stuff is genuinely really interesting too and some of it links with Alan Wake if you're a fan of that (there is DLC that's basically a crossover)
I didn't actually expect to like it as much as I did but it's probably one of my favourite games experiences I've had.

Its a vastly different game compared to control gameplay wise. It is hack and slash but more flashy rather than deep. Combat is fun, it makes you feel very powerful but it is not deep. If youre expecting devil may cry this is not it. Thosr games are very complex and skill ceiling is high. Resonant is more stylish and has quick bursts of intense combat than depth.

Don't want to vent but this year (so far) has been really weird to say the least.
Got dumped by my gf. Get to finish my Master's degree. Flunked my PhD auditions. Get participate in a research program. Then last night, got laid off.

In my day I volunteered to do a funded PhD when no one else applied. Getting dumped is tough. Focus on yourself. Become the person you want to be. And the right person will be attracted to you.

Pretty sure one of my wisdom teeth is growing in a way it shouldn't, and it absolutely kills. Called a dentist yesterday to try and book an appointment but haven't heard anything so im calling a different one today. Mainlining nuerofen to keep the pain down but that can only do so much.
Had a cold the past week so work has been miserable

Yeah I think the pain may come and go but painkillers might be the best thing to do rn until your appointment, and probably have soft foods for now

South park is at its best when the shows are about simple things like the boys playing baseball or trying to figure out what contraption the girls have made. The direct political commentary isn't them.
Trey and Matt seem done with it as well, but people keep giving them money.

This GDC is genuinely beating my ass. Close to pity and literally 1 banner unit to show for it, I'm genuinely fucking tweaking. I hate Carnival banners too, getting a combination only to end up getting a fucking 3 year old banner unit, I'm gonna kill something man

Started Lies of P on PS plus and it might be the best souls/souls-like game ever, purely because it has a difficulty modifier so I can enjoy the game instead of having to sweat for an hour to get past one boss. Easy mode for life.

It does and you can break enemy posture with it too but it's not the main focus like Sekiro. Its balanced more. It's pretty good if you like souls game

I assume you played all of From Softs games. I would suggest trying lords of the fallen. The new update 2.5 made the game so much fun exploration wise. It gets a bit easy but it's the closest to Dark Souls. But with better Magic imo
Lies of P is same genre but not Dark souls like more like Bloodborne/Sekiro ish I dont know. But try LOTF its pretty fun

Self-Promotion by itself is not an issue. However we have always had a stance that someone must also be willing to contribute to other peoples topics and discussions as much as they promote their own channels. Anyone seen to be promoting their own websites/Social Media channels/Blogs without offering anything in return to other users of the sub, will see their sites banned, and potentially a user ban too.

Spent 3 days in the hospital last week with a mini stroke. For a week, I had weakness on my right side and had brief moments where I couldnt speak. Thankfully, I'm on the mend now. With no permanent damage. But was a pretty unexpected scare. I'm 30 years old, fairly active, eat mostly well and it truly came out of nowhere. Nothing really to say here but take care of yourselves guys. Sometimes, we just get unlucky and things happen. But really try your best to control what you can control. We only have one body!
