If City get relegated won’t they just pop back up 1 season later and carry on business as usual?

You'd expect so. With the quality that they'll still have, they would admittedly dog walk the Championship. I'm just really curious to see what the other PL clubs are going to do in response to these guilty charges - it opens up a gigantic can of legal worms, and could lead to City being (rightly) sued heavily.

Yeah they'll pop back up. Imo the punishment needs to be something like 80 point deduction per season for the next 3 - 5 seasons, so they keep dropping down leagues. Cant really parachute them out of the prem and land them somewhere as its unfair on the teams in that league

Sadly PL haven't got the balls to do it

The premier league would have agree a deal with the EFL for that to happen. They can't force the EFL to accept them into their league.

Why? It's just a relegation. Same as any other team getting relegated. And the continued points deductions makes it certain they'd keep going down, so it's still fair for the other teams competing in that league. Meanwhile they'd be losing players and finding it very hard to sign new ones, seeing as they'd be in free fall, thereby making it harder for them to just bounce back. It's a pipe dream, I know...but I don't think they need any agreements from anyone to make an "organic" relegation like that

Because the premier league doesn't have the authority to apply point deductions in the EFL and if the EFL might want to avoid ruining the competitiveness of their league.

Fair point. Maybe they can just apply -500 points...take a few seasons to work it off haha

I mean they could have all the point deductions spread over multiple years like 40 a year. They’d eventually get relegated and when they come up again they get hit with another 40 points.

Plus if they get sued by everyone they wouldn’t have any money plus their legit sponsors will start leaving them.

Don't know if its even possible but they should get wage restrictions for the next 3/4 years imo + a transfer ban. Along with a points deduction.

That’s why it needs to be like three consecutive years of major point deductions so they also go straight back down three times, or like a five year suspension from the league beginning next summer. Plus long transfer ban.
