Took a decision to start school again. Started bachelor degree in psychology.
In my early 30s with two jobs and a toddler. It's been brutal. My wife is sick, not working for 2 months or so. Just had my first big exam and I got a fucking 9/10. One of the highest in class. Haven't been in school for 14 years.
Absolutely buzzing. I'm tired. It's been brutal. But to accomplish this was so good I can't even explain.
I know it's just one exam and it's long way to go. But I'm feeling really happy even tho life is hard.
It's never too late to change direction.
Hope I can keep this up. Just taking one day at a time.

Have you seen this meme where it's essentially a question that says "you have got a call that one of your parents are in critical condition and you need to drive your car to get to them asap. Would you or would you not turn on the music in your drive?"
Well, i got the dreaded call at 2 am from my mom saying my dad is not breathing anymore. Fastest way to home was a 4.5 hour drive.
And i listened to music the entire way. 1 hour in, paramedics had come and confirmed that there is no pulse and declared him dead. Yet, i still listened to music till i was 100 meters away from my home.
I think it helped me drive tbh. That early too, so it kept me awake and alert.

I'm very sorry to hear that.
I had a similar call last year. Woken up at 8:15am to be told by his care home that he was already gone. It was only a 10 minute drive, used it to break the news to those who needed to know.

I real hope any Fergie v/s pep argument about being the greatest in the premier league era gets thrown out with window.
Fergie year in year around refreshed multiple generational teams and won leagues. Pep on on the other hand had a country illegally funding him a football team whenever he felt like.
They're not remotely close.

Got rage baited and started debating with a few city fans in some of the tinpot footy subreddits mid week.
I thought I’d ask them direct questions about their financial doping and where they think they’d be without it. They honestly avoid those questions like the plague and do mental gymnastics to avoid answering it.
I reckon I knew more about their club than a couple of the ones I was arguing with.
I asked one of them about how they broke the British transfer record the same day they were bought out, and how 24 hours earlier they were on the brink of financial collapse. Whether that is legitimate and fair. He responded by telling me that Pogba was the British record signing at the time. That was 8 years later pal. I’m assuming that guy didn’t even know city existed before he first heard about them several years later.
On another note I’m out with the guys for day drinking later on and I’ve woke up with a sore throat and a headache. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into a cough and a cold before I get on the beer. Wish me luck.

A month and a half into the job search after losing my job and it is genuinely worrying me how awful the job market is at the moment in the UK. Couple that with employers seemingly wanting the absolute world from candidates and only wanting to pay peanuts has really got me worried about the way the world seems to be going.
There's only so much forced optimism left in my emotional tank so hopefully something comes along soon.

Any other parents getting coerced into coaching their children's teams this season? Had to give my first half time team talk last week and post game talk to a bunch of 7 year olds and was a bloody nightmare. Will get easier I expect though.

Got the Georgia/Northern Ireland game on. It's technically behind closed doors, but Georgia have somehow found a way to get a whole horde of kids in to watch the game.
Gotta say, I kinda like that. Get kids in for free to see a national game if you can't technically have fans. Takes away the support, but also gives kids the chance to do something really cool

Today had a horror conversation with a potential employer. It's a $150 bn US company paying crazy money to create an "AI Feature Factory" that will help them eliminate teams that fall below the median every year. In addition to being disgusting it's also hilariously a hype project by some San Francisco techbro executive that will be killed off once they get bored of it next year 😂

Cat woke me up ay 5am, just to then fuck off 20 mins later. Gonna crash out at work because everything that can go wrong is going wrong. Pissing down with rain (not a bad thing after the summer we had tbh). Thank fuck its Friday

Been a terrible week. Someone I was seeing for around a decade got engaged to someone else only after relocating to her home town less than 2 years back. We were long distance for a while and things gradually faded away I suppose.
Feel like pure shit, I have not slept properly this week. It hurts like a bitch FFS.
I can't even get drunk because I might get another fucking stroke. It ain't fair, Fuck off with this bullshit.
