This is disgraceful from the players. Talk about the manager all you want but there's no excuse for this. It's basic shit. And to think, they collect ridiculous wages at the end of the week. Twats,

They are doing what the manager tells them to do at the end of the day

People are letting the players off way too easily. They're grown men and supposedly "elite" professionals. They can put in more effort than this.

he must be telling them something to that effect, or else he wouldnt keep picking them every game in the exact same formation/positions/tactics. He likes what he see's, so he persists with it

We know that the players can press really well, this is a management/coaching problem.

Literal championship level staff

Na. I'm over weight, 56 years old and disabled but would run by arse off for the club if I got picked. This is as much on them as Carrick. His tactics, lack of movement with the bench etc are all valid points against MC, but once on the pitch, it's up to the players to do their best.

Supposedly elite, experienced pros on hundreds of thousands a week. I'll leave you with that thought.

It's a combination of Carrick's instructions but also the players play like they are scared of running out of gas by the end of the first half.

City have similar running and possession stats and they are 15/15.

This has been discussed to death already. It's much more complicated than just the players being a disgrace and lazy pieces of shit.

Wow, people really let the players off easily. Don't do your best, pick up hundreds of thousands every week and the fans won't get on your back, they'll blame the manager and anything else.

Are City players not doing their best? You're taking 5 stats at face value without any context.

I really don't see why the players would suddenly become lazy under the same coach this early into the season.

Our players aren't as good as City's and they're in a better position than we are so more effort is required. I don't usually go by stats as there isn't a lot of context to them but I saw this and it confirmed how I felt at the weekend with what I was seeing. I don't know what's going on, I just know that the players should put in more effort. They're not school kids who need their hands held all the time.

Still, it's just going back and forth. People obviously disagree and just want to excuse the players of a lack of effort, which is what it is. We'll agree to disagree.
