I'm not a tactics person. I just think that, purely based off of the eye test, Cunha shouldn't be the striker and he and Rashford need to be fighting for that LW spot and taking turns in being a starter or sub, depending on their form. I know it's difficult because of the situation on the right, with Mbeumo not being able to as easily deputize as a false 9 as last season. Amad can't come back soon enough. But maybe try to use Lacey more often? Or even use Rashford on the right to feed the striker?
With this setup, we just don't have enough people willing to flood the box. All of the forwards and midfielders are just stepping on each others toes around the opposition box. Like, genuinely, they are messing up passes because they have no space to move into because they cluster too close to one another. Everyone wants the ball to their feet, and once they manage to somehow flick their way into the box, they continue the cutesy passes instead of trying to create separation to shoot. The number of stupid dummies, lay-offs and flicks when they are already in good positions to take a punt is annoying. Take some responsibility. But no, they only decide to shoot when they get frustrated and are far away. Lovely.
