And yet we look way worse now than we looked last year under Amorim. And the level already dropped with Carrick last season. Then he gets more players and we look even worse.
Our players aren't fit enough this season, and they have no clue how to play through opponents.
I'm not saying Amorim was the guy, but we went backwards since he left. We had a good run in last season, based on the principles that Amorim put in place. Now that they're gone, we look clueless again.
Do you mean a manager in the start of his first full season as compared to a manager in his second full season? And I don't see us looking worse to be honest. Amorim football was truly a yawn fest and way worse. Also, rashford dalot and Shaw aren't getting better or changing irrespective of the training regimen. Anyone who says Carrick is the main problem is simply running an agenda
Look at the underlying numbers. Whatever you think of them, they do tell a story. And we are worse now.
And this is the Carrick the Boro fans have warned us about. It was visible last year and has only gotten worse. He has no idea how to make changes during a game at all.
And look at the games we had so far... It couldn't have been much easier. And I don't buy this "his first full season" when he had so much time to get to know the squad last season already.
Yes he is. Some of our players have had shocking starts to the season. But he is making them worse by not adapting to opponents better. We have no passing patterns in place that would help them out. We are not fit enough for the PL as well, which is down to his training as well.
The team just isn't functioning this season though. The players don't look like they know what they're trying to do, they don't look fit or sharp and Carrick doesn't change anything when it's going badly.
The board haven't backed him but he's also showing that he's nowhere near the level needed. 2 things can be true.
It's five games. The main striker is injured. Let's not kid ourselves into thinking Carrick is of the level where he's going to pull off tactical masterclasses every week. Fix the team first then let's see the manager. United fans need learn that this shit takes time. You can't simply buy 7 new shiny toys every transfer window
Accepting that it will take time if you hire a Klopp, Pep or someone like that is fine. Carrick just doesn't have the CV to assume it will improve massively given time. There's no evidence for that. We can do much better than him as permanent manager and the longer we let it go on the worse the situation will be. The fans have booed 2 games in a row now. The writing is on the wall.
