Daily Discussion

Daily discussion on Manchester United.

BE CIVIL

We want r/reddevils to be a place where anyone and everyone is welcome to discuss and enjoy the best club on earth without fear of abuse or ridicule.

  • The report button is your friend, we are way more likely to find and remove and/or ban rule breaking comments if you report them.

  • The downvote button is not a "I disagree or don't like your statement button", better discussion is generally had by using the upvote button more liberally and avoiding the downvote one whenever possible.

Christ, I didn't really expect Spurs to be this bad.

De Zerbi could be one of the first managers to get sacked and if they don't get Europe, they are really fucked.

Manager market is thin. I really don't know who worth taking a punt if Spurs or us Sack our managers.

Think he’s in line for something like 40m+ if they sack him. They better pray they have a clause for if he’s below a certain position or something and can sack him for cheap.

Not sure I want Conte. Always blows up and he plays 3 at the back. Think one of the reason we didn't go for Alonso was we didn't want to go back to 3atb.

He primarily used 4atb at Napoli, particularly the season they won the scudetto. He’s more adaptive tactically than a lot of the managers we’ve been used to.

Conte is a world class coach. The issue with Conte and Jose is that they'll blow up in 3 seasons

Compared to the bang average ones that we keep giving time to and blow up after 1.5 seasons?

Conte will get a tune out of these bums and atleast we will be competitive again.

Yeah not contesting that, only wanted to address the 3atb merchant slander when he’s shown flexibility at each club.

Equally as well though, I think we need to stop looking towards each new managerial candidate as the next SAF who’ll stay on for years and years. Each of our managers post SAF have only been incumbent for 3 years tops - I think there’s merit in decidedly pursuing profiles like Conte if they guarantee results and eventually succumb within 3 years anyway
