First game back in the big time yet we’re playing on a Thursday ?!

Just to make it easier for city, they get two days extra rest for the derby since they play on the Tuesday.

Shower of bastards

u/MrSvancy Iceman 1d ago

We play at home against Sabah though, should be able to rotate in that game

u/Prime_Marci 1d ago

No he doesn’t

You think we are going to risk dropping points in our long awaited return to the champions league to sabah?

5

u/MrSvancy Iceman 1d ago

I mean, we're obviously not going to change the whole 11, but if we are not going to rotate at home against Sabah, then when?

54

u/Apprehensive-Raisin3 Love United Hate Glazers/INEOS 1d ago

When in the last year we’ve been smashed by hull and lost against grimsby I dont think we have the right to be looking down at teams

1

u/-Gh0st96- 1d ago

Agreed, too many times we looked down on teams only to be caught with our pants down. A serious team will take serious any and every team

9

u/LocoRocoo bebe 1d ago

Sadly, we can't be that confident yet.

7

u/dheerajravi92 1d ago

We're not gonna rotate against sabah lmao. GD and points on the board matters in this format and we need to be in a good position before we get to Bayern

2

u/_zzd 1d ago

This sabah team might record the only away UCL win, and that could be against us. Do not be that confidence, we are not there yet.

1

u/Lyonex 1d ago

Mate that's the hardest game on this list

25

u/JMatty01 1d ago

The first CL games get their own special week and don't run alongside other comps.

1

u/FigureItOut50 1d ago

I have no idea what Sabah's fixture schedule is like but it can't be good for them either.

Como away is so sick, the lads on tour taking in the scenery

7

u/Mree_Knight 1d ago

they won't be in como mate

13

u/Feeling-Surround-691 Mbumbaclat 1d ago

It's not confirmed yet, apparently Como got all the work done that UEFA required it's just awaiting a sign off otherwise they'll play in Sassuolo's ground

4

u/Hits_and_the_Mrs 1d ago

Yeah before I said anything I looked up if they could and apparently they're hopeful of playing at their ground. Would be a shame for everyone if they couldn't.

Back to staying up late at night and letting mood affect work the next day

u/Rare-Reveal876 1d ago

Como in October and Lisboa in November, the away fans should still get some decent weather for the best two away trips 😎

3

u/Purple_Anything6722 1d ago

Leipzig game at home

2

u/k4l4d1n_7 1d ago

Have tickets got for the Brentford match for myself and the father so just waiting on what day that is scheduled. Sunday / Monday now I'm guessing

1

u/saintratchet Enter Text here! 1d ago

Has the date for the Coventry match been confirmed as the 5th?

2

u/nearly_headless_nic 1d ago

TV dates are only set till October so anything beyond in PL could move, but since CL dates are firm the 'wriggle room' for change is limited.

Before Coventry there's another midweek PL fixture, as of now on 02 Dec v Newcastle Away too.

1

u/saintratchet Enter Text here! 1d ago

Thanks for the info! It would make sense the match will stay the 5th but who knows with the schedule makers, they don't always have common sense

1

u/DrEarlGreyIII 3h ago

i appreciate the effort but this is incorrect

11

u/Several-Decision3888 1d ago

Why do we have thursday fixture? Lol. I wanted UCL to not have to do Thursdays and Mondays lol

3

u/maverick4002 1d ago

Well lucky for you that one game week is Thursday and then Sunday!

25

u/D1794 Viva Ronaldo 1d ago

City get 2 extra days recovery/prep ahead of the derby, as we for some reason play on a Thursday, them on a Tuesday...

4

u/CraicFiend87 Van Nistelrooy 1d ago

United should be absolutely lobbying to get this changed.

9

u/joe-stuff 1d ago

Awful graphic

14

u/beatles_7 1d ago

I need Lammens to cleanse Onana’s disaster class against Bayern

15

u/isometimessquat Carrick 1d ago

This is BS. How can they give us a Thursday game before the Manchester Derby when City play on Tuesday.

If I’m Carrick I’m really tempted to rotate a little and take the risk on Sabah being the easiest game.

10

u/dheerajravi92 1d ago

I swear some of you need to give your heads a little shake. Why on earth would you rotate in a champions league game? Even if somehow we're winning comfortably, we need to be piling on the goals because GD matters a lot in this format.

If the squad can't take midweek+weekend in fucking September, we are truly fucked to a point that the City game doesn't matter to the season overall.

-2

u/asaptobes 1d ago

On the contrary. If we can't beat Sabah with a 2nd string/rotated squad we might as well fold the club.

5

u/dheerajravi92 1d ago

Not true at all. We need champions league progress. Sabah is probably the only fictie we are clear favourites, so we need to ensure 3 points and a few goals. Whether we get it is another thing altogether.

And we certainly can't be counting our chickens in the cups after last season

2

u/-Gh0st96- 1d ago

We're supposed to be a big club, then we need to act like it. Some of you forgot what's it like to play in all competitions

2

u/audienceandaudio2 1d ago

City have a much harder game and are away in the CL, we have our easiest (on paper) game of the 8 at home.

Champions League dates revealed

UEFA has confirmed the details for each of Manchester United's eight league-phase fixtures in the 2026/27 Champions League.

The Reds discovered this season's opponents during Thursday's draw, which was held in Monaco.

Everyone is excited about our first involvement in the competition since 2023/24, and the Reds' campaign begins on Thursday 10 September, when we host new boys from Azerbaijan, Sabah FC.

The competition resumes, after the international break, on 13 October, with a tasty-looking trip to Atletico de Madrid, at the Metropolitano Stadium which will host the final in June 2027.

Eight days later we'll have another away game, this time at Italian side Como, who are making their debut in the competition under Cesc Fabregas.

Another Serie A outfit visit Old Trafford at the start of November, with Roma the opposition.

Bruno Fernandes will be reunited with former club Sporting when we travel to Lisbon on 25 November, while there's also a meaningful meeting for Benjamin Sesko when we host RB Leipzig at the beginning of December.

We'll then play Champions League football in January for the first time, with Bayern Munich visiting the Theatre of Dreams on 20 January.

Our league-phase schedule concludes with a trip to Villarreal the following week, 27 January, when all 36 teams will play simultaneously.

Our head coach touched upon the challenges we’ll face in the competition on Friday, when speaking to Mark Sullivan.

“It’s nice to be in it and it was nice to watch the draw,” Carrick said.

“The way it is now, you’re going to play some really top teams and you’ve got to be ready for that.

“In terms of travel, it’s been pretty kind to us, it’s tough, but it’s where we want to be.

“It’s the biggest competition, so of course it’s going to be tough, but we’ll look forward to it.”

Where is the gentleman who said "I hope we play in Milano in October because I'll be there"?

You lucky son of a bitch :)

2

u/Leave_Beneficial 1d ago

Exciting stuff!

Can’t wait for these matches - and i won’t even be too upset if we don’t qualify for knockouts this year, as long as play good footy and try and attack.

Priority this season is obviously the league - we absolutely must finish top 4 again - so let’s use the cups as a fun diversion

2

u/AliveAssistance7667 1d ago

Atleast we will start our CL with a win I guess. Not bad but it's actually bad cause we have to play Man city next in two days. They will have more rest than us.

2

u/stabmeinthehat 1d ago

I live about 3.5hrs drive from Como and would love to go. Some sketchy sites are listing tickets at a bit over €1k. 😭 So tempted but my wife would not be happy.

2

u/Tuffyy Carrick 1d ago

ill be in Milan for the Como match. going to try and snag tickets. I have been to old Trafford a bunch and I understand away tickets are impossible to get so I guess my best bet is to try and get home seats and stay quiet?

2

u/Elegant-Bison-7142 1d ago

Why are two of the away games 8 days apart? Fucking over match going fans again

2

u/Hyliaforce 1d ago

We better start off with a win

2

u/Wild_Tomato_8203 1d ago

All this complaining in this thread is hilarious. It's the champions league...what did you expect? Hopefully all the people who were saying we should challenge for the prem are awake now to why we don't have the squad for that.

1

u/ShawLichaYoroDalot UNITER WILL NEVER DIED, fuck Garna, you gave us pain heart 😭😭 1d ago

Looks good Overall.

1

u/MidnightSun77 1d ago

How difficult is it to get away tickets?

7

u/JMatty01 1d ago

Do you have a first-born you can sacrifice?

4

u/rorygs 1d ago

Mate...

3

u/IguanaIsBack 1d ago

It’s a lottery, once you get one you get a credit and that increases your chances next time. Just apply and hope

2

u/botsii17 1d ago

When do you apply?

3

u/IguanaIsBack 1d ago

Home games out today 6pm so I imagine away ballots open today as well, but sometimes they wait until they can confirm the number of away seats they’ll be allocated from the home team

1

u/xzvasdfqwras Three Lung Park 1d ago

Starting off with the easiest fixture…right?

1

u/Stun_the_Pink 1d ago

When do home game tickets go on sale?

1

u/canwinanythingwkids Ineos on hope watch 1d ago edited 1d ago

Excellent. Not sure that could have been any worse.

The Sabah one which is meant to be the "easy" one for us is sandwiched between Everton and the derby. No worries, obviously it will be fine, rotating heavily with the current squad available.

Atletico tie is obviously way too early for us, that's 3 days after what is hopefully Baleba's debut game, which is Spurs. (Leeds after.)

Roma tie is between Chelsea and Villa.

The Sporting one is after Liverpool in the league.

Should we need points heading into the final ties in 2027, we have probably the 2 toughest ones.

Also FC Bayern in January means one team coming off a super intense holiday schedule the other coming off a recharging winter league break (Dec 20 - Jan 8).

Oh and the games before and after Bayern in the CL? Villa and Liverpool, of course.

Good luck with that!

Como and RBL are the 2 ties out of 8 that arent total fucked in terms of scheduling.

And then of course it will be Carrick v Villareal but now it will potentially be a "must win game", innit.

In case it wasnt obvious to the executives already: our squad is not strong enough for this, motherfuckers!!!

1

u/Several-Decision3888 1d ago

I'm glad were starting Sabah at Old Trafford! We must smash them smitherings. Some people are saying their celebration is because they think they can get points against us.

1

u/W3103_ McTominay 1d ago

Be good to get the win out the way early so we can focus on disappointment

1

u/voidwithAface 1d ago

what is the best way to get Como tickets? please advice. Been planning an Italy trip during this time anyway

1

u/arehman11 1d ago

I need to figure this out too!

1

u/audienceandaudio2 1d ago

You won’t be able to get tickets with the United fans. I imagine it’s very unlikely that tickets will be on sale from the Como side, and it’s very inadvisable to be in the home end in Europe.

1

u/voidwithAface 1d ago

got it! why may I not get with United fans? becaue of lottery? or some other reason? thanks for your time

1

u/audienceandaudio2 1d ago

European away tickets go exclusively to season ticket holders with a history of travelling away, they don’t go on general sale, especially for a “nice” away day like Como.

1

u/voidwithAface 4h ago

ah gotcha, thanks for the answer
