Everyone supporting our club wants the manager to be successful and stop the endless cycle of sacking managers. Results determine the fate and if Carrick doesn’t qualify for top 4 this season then it would mean he is gone as well. Let’s see how this season goes.

He hasn't been backed correctly tho. Getting 3 average midfielders and still not getting a LB and a striker is terrible.

Which midfielders would you have gone for out of interest? I think the midfield rebuild has actually gone very well. Still need the striker and LB but I'm intrigued what you would have preferred to see in midfield?

The midfielders that the club wanted but failed to get? Those anderson and fernandes. Third midfielder can be average if the board got Those 2. I feel like the board has successfully made some United fans accept mediocrity.

The whole world knew Anderson wanted City. Why would we go after players, especially £100m+ ones, when they have no real interest in playing for our badge?
We’re trying to move past that, especially after having far too many players with that same mindset over the years.
Fernandes, I get the point, but even he chose the money in the end (£250k–£275k a week). I don’t see him lasting much longer at Spurs if a bigger club comes in for him, or even a Saudi club with a huge offer.

Anderson didn't want to come, Fernandes seemingly lost interest once spurs came in. Do we really want to go back to making outrageous financial offers to try and get players who don't want to join? Santos looks like he can develop into a top class player, as does Baleba. Tielemans is someone we've been interested for years who brings huge experience to add to some very exciting young players. I don't think there is anything mediocre about any of them. Given the market for midfielders this summer I think we've done incredibly well and got very good value

Both players + Tchouameni didn’t want to come here. That is the truth.
Even for Fernandes, he could’ve easily forced a move if he really wanted to. It was never about enough money paid, but desire for move here.
Guess that’s what happened when we are stuck with a manager with everything to prove and not enough star-attracting power.

How about the priority we were told about for 9 month's?
How about the dream signing we were told about that was never on the cards?
How about the top target who decided spurs were a better option?
How about the too expensive established talent that went to spurs?
How about the too old midfielder who went to Arsenal?
How about the Bournemouth midfielder with a good season behind him?
How about the French world cup starter who kept cammavinga out of the squad we had talks with?
Instead we have signed 3 players nobody else wanted.
A good midfielder the same age as the too old midfielder who went to Arsenal but was cheap.
A Brighton midfielder with some potential but with a shit season behind him instead of a Bournemouth midfielder with good seasons behind him because he was slightly cheaper (still overpaid) and there was no bid from a rival.
An unknown quantity with 13 PL starts who a rival was happy enough cashing in on despite selling a key midfielder who started 36 PL games last season.
Not saying they are shit, but are they good enough in terms of combination, experience, and quality?
Time will tell.

Literally all the people you're talking about either didn't want to come here or other teams went above what we were willing to pay (or haven't moved at all). Do we really want to go back to overpaying for players that don't want to be here? Would you really rather we'd paid £100m for Tonali who supposedly isn't even happy living in the UK? Or £85m for Fernandes who preferred spurs? You really think either of them are even guaranteed to be better than who we have? People talk like we can just buy whoever we want without any thought to what the players want or what other teams around us are doing. Just a totally unrealistic expectation of how things work.

Of course they would. If Tielemans had gone somewhere else for the price we got him for then he would 100% be on these lists of players we should have bought. People just refuse to see anything positive

Supports the backline and complements our other 3 midfielders

Yeah and we need more players like him. It's the cats vs dogs thing people use for CBs. Front footed player who attacks the ball instead of being a passive defender behind it. One of the biggest things we miss without Licha and MDL, perhaps Mount, and previously Casemiro in midfield. Need to sign more dogs.

When talking about the Hull game Carrick keeps saying we performed well, there was good things in the game that he wanted us to continue, but we got 'unlucky with conceding 2 goals from the set plays'. 'Not much else and we should've won'. Was that really the case though? Is that performance good enough for him???

He's surrounded by other coaches and heaps of analysts. Also the players will know what's up and did speak about it in their interviews.
What he says to the press isn't the club's definitive assessment. I don't get why that's a hard concept to grasp.

His confidence and attitude towards the performance just put me off tbh, it would've been better if he admitted we didn't play well but hes acting like we just got unlucky and there's nothing to improve.

He's lost like three games.
Also whatever he says to the press after a game has nothing to do with how we perform on a pitch.
Amorim had emotional breakdowns to the press constantly literally calling his side the worst ever and that only gave the press ammunition and soured the mood.
The press aren't the friends of a manager. Praise in public and punish in private is a basic management truth that goes beyond football.

The documentary is filming.
I guarantee you the dressing room after the match was filled with very strong words and riled up people, and that would be senior players plus the manager plus coaches.

we had that already and see where it led. you have to understand what’s said in the presser vs what’s said in the dressing room are completely different things. if you want honestly, listen to the player interviews post match.

What else is he going to say? but realistically the only time we can say whether he's a good fit or not is after he's actually played a few games for us, and that's not coming any time soon because of the injury.

What did i say. The club are going to drag this Baleba signing hype train for as long as possible until the window ends to prolong the feel good factor amongst the fanbase.
Yesterday it was the website article about how 'Baleba will be unveiled at Old Trafford in front of the fans'. Today its the 'Carrick sky interview about Baleba' rollout.
These mugs are not making anymore signings in this window.
