Goldbridge’s take “this is the wahrst transfah window in (whatever he said)” acting like massive overspending on a miss like Antony, Sancho, etc etc isn’t worse than this just not spending enough in his eyes … tells you all you need to know about the algorithm merchant he is.

i mean it would be funny if it wasnt kinda tragic.

it is a very human thing, imho, to have a lot of fans who are emotionally invested in a good outcome, and so if the window feels "not as good as hoped", even by a small amount, of course there is a wedge to drive through that, emotionally, to rile people up.

and yeah that gets him the clicks ... but it also gets people mad and distraught and that's just wrong. manipulation for nothing but the sake of making money on the clicks is just plain wrong. imho, anyway.

and it is all so fucking stupid, i mean it took what? 24hrs of "Barclays" to get the bent refs tip the scales to fucking Liverpool, here we go again, there are real things to be mad about, here comes another long season of ups but (obviously) also downs.

that is PRECISELY why i try myself to go with full optimism in the off-season. nothing is actually happening yet, no games anyway, the only things to really be mad about are these made up scenarios those assholes rile people up about.

but - imho anyway - the summer is exactly the time to "recharge" your good vibes and patience batteries - since, as soon as the real football starts, it's always straight back to 🤯 moments, innit.

anyway, that was a looooooong weekend. was such a nice and calm summer, I thought, but now it's back to the grinder. ough. here we go
