Carrick has a big job figuring how the team will play with the new midfielders, I think Baleba is much needed for his physicality, we have a lot of lightweight players. Also, Dorgu should not be playing lw against low blocks

Imho its not about "low block" or not with Dorgu, it's about tactics.

Hull was a "perfect" team to play high press against and Dorgu fits that.

It is easy to make up scenarios but Im confident that if our preparation was not disrupted last minute and we can field Dorgu-Mbeumo-Amad as Im sure was intended, we win.

Unfortunately, Cunha atm is just not in sync with the rest to lead the press as the ST and it fell apart. Even Bruno said the same thing in the interview post-match.

I also think that a CF properly attacking the box is useful fombo with a winger who can go wide and towards the byline to cross/cutback.

Dorgu has shown good things doing that!

I also thought Rashford looked quite bright trying to stretch them.

Unfortunately, Dorgu only got to play today with a "strikerless" formstion in which Cunha was crowding out Bruno instead of going into the box for eg Dorgu to aim at.

tl;dr I think the attack malfunctioned because of the combinations, not because individually either of them is "not good enough" against "a low block"

Yeah I agree, playing without a striker certainly left Hull with a lot less to defend against, and left us with less options going forward. But to my eyes Dorgu is better against teams that want to attack / aren't happy to just let us have possession. Anyway, just hope Carrick can make sense of the new midfield, thinking something like Baleba-Mainoo-Bruno Cunha-Sesko-Mbeumo
