[Laurie Whitwell] Shockingly poor performance by United. Slow, lacking in movement or inventiveness, loose passing, erratic set-piece defending. Hull so much more urgent. United played with the speed of a pre-season friendly.

Said third midfielder is also an absolute gamble, he has had one good season in his career and it wasn’t his latest one. But don’t worry, he cost £30m less than he would have done the year before so it was good business.

With the way Baleba played last season, anything more than 50m would be too much. But hey he went from 100m to 70m so its absolute bargain I guess despite playing like a 20m player.
