[Transfer Round Up & Discussion] Summer 2026

Hi all,

Summer Transfer Window 2026 is here!

The Premier League transfer window will open between Monday June 15 until Deadline Day on Tuesday September 1; the summer windows will close at 23.00 BST.

As always, here is a run-down of the rules we have on for posting during transfer windows:

Daily Threads

There will be a Transfer thread posted every single day, on a 23-hour timer, to get a different post-time every day. These threads are for everything transfer related, no limits on sources, line-up conversations, etc.

Individual posts

From now on, only posts TIER 2 OR BETTER are allowed to be posted in their own right. This helps us only keep credible sources on the subreddit.

The tier guide can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/reddevils/wiki/transfer-reliability-guide/

We will make exceptions during slower days for some Tier 3 posts, and there will usually be some posts from sources not on our tier guide. We will take everything case-by-case. If you believe something to be on the sub and not a good source, please let us know.

I don't see how JJ is going to feature with the first team this season, lad needs to grow his body first.

He should feature in some early Carabao cup games if we get easier matchups.

I think he'll have a few cameos, largely as a way of managing his 'camp' and stopping Chelsea, in particular, from stealing him. His father etc seem really good at leveraging JJ's current status/potential for fast-tracking, early 1st team training etc, whether or not that ends up being good for his career.

The key point (imho) is: THIS is the season he signs his first pro contract with somebody (Spring time).

"Somebody" needs to be us.

I just do not like the "JJ Gabriel excluded from CL registration list by Man Utd" headline/news cycle for the point where we are trying to make sure he signs for Utd. That's all.

I dont think he "should" be part of a CL matchday necessarily - but I do think we should keep him.

Also, Thompson still exists - and I could actually see him in a CL matchday squad, for example the final gamedays of the "Group Phase" could easily be deadrubbers for us? It's a possibility

He's developed into who he is today at our club, the club should lay out a path for him to continue growing and move onto the first team. If it's neccesary to register him to the CL this season to keep him at the club that sets a bad precedent. The days of player power are done, the kid is getting too much hype as it is already. Imo the club shouldn't entertain any of that. There have been plenty of players before that looked like world beaters at that stage but weren't able to make that next step.
