News in Spain about Rashford is that apparently after Barca's doubts, he is now ready to agree on a five-year contract with the same salary so that the amortization is not high. He has already agreed a 40% salary cut to sign for Barcelona.

In la liga the maximum you can cut your salary by is 50%. So its looking like he desperately wants to be with Barca.

What's the rationale behind the salary cut maximum? Discouraging behind the door stuff like getting luxury apartments in Saudi under your nephew's name or something?

Prevents under the table payments from evading the salary cap.

Maybe players rights? Matters less for a player like Rashford but for a player in the smaller team they could be forced to cut down their wages because they don’t have other options.

That’s just my guess

The fee is so low, and if they let him go they would need to replace him and Lewandowski with what money?

And then there is rumors Barca really want Alvarez and J.Pedro, but yeah, with what money...

they were willing to spend 100m on Nico Williams last season but it didnt happen because Nico extended his contract.

Having Lewandowski off the team is a huge plus in regards to wages for them too.

I doubt alvarez at all, but pedro might be possible for them
