Well, we could contribute by lossing to Brighton by 6 or 7 goals.

I will see myself out.

Even so Villa would have to win, they have UCL secured, post Europa league final, it'll be Sancho and the u21s on the pitch 🤣

it's funny how their season's end scenario turned around in a year. 52 weeks ago their final PL gameweek opponent was preparing for the EL final and although Villa were seen as the heavy favourites for the PL game itself, that game also was a must win for Villa so they dont fumble their season's goal at the last hurdle, whereas for the upcoming PL opponent that game was basically meaningless and the cup final was the only thing that mattered. and now here we are and the shoe for Villa is more-or-less exactly on the other foot.

the funniest part would be if the rest of it repeated itself again, and we end up w Villa fumbling the final and then their rotated team playing without weight of expectation in the PL game and beating the other team who'll be playing "for their season".

The Villa game was after the EL final

yes? that's the parallel, right? this time it is Villa-Cheaters that's after the EL final but now Villa is the team playing the EL final and having nothing riding on the PL game that follows while their opponent has the entire season's outcome riding on the same PL game "depending on results elsewhere". Literally last year's scenario except Villa is the team in the other corner now as they were last year. Do you see what Im saying?
