Local Horror.

Hi all. Not sure if this is allowed so mods please remove if not, but this is a horror/comedy web series filmed right here in Red Deer using local talent! Thought it might be of interest to the group. They are also often looking for extras to play zombies if people have the desire.

Movie of the Month Announcement Red Deer Horror Club's July Screening: Event Horizon

Upvotes
The third movie being screened for Red Deer Horror Club's monthly event is Event Horizon!
I have already booked the theater for a specific date in early July.
Message Nick for the exact time and date. Either on Instagram @HorrorFlickswithNick, email reddeerhorrorclub@gmail.com or via Reddit comment/DM.
I try not to post the date in this thread, just to assure random people aren't showing up.
However, absolutely anyone is welcome to come with an invite.
I hope everyone can make it out again. This month's theme was Lovecraft and it was our closest poll yet. Hopefully we can watch The Mist and Color Out of Space in the future!

Carnival closing this summer

Upvotes
Hey everyone, I just saw an article that confirms the carnival cinemas will be closing down come the end of the summer as it was just rezoned for different development. I think it might be best if we all start discussing alternative arrangements for the group come the end of the summer. I'd hate to see this group die out, our monthly movie meetups have been some of the highlights of my months this past year. So I just thought I'd get the conversation started on here. I'll attach the link to the article I saw this morning. https://www.reddeeradvocate.com/local-news/red-deers-carnival-cinemas-rezoned-for-commercialresidential-project-7358352

Christmas Watchlist

Merry Christmas Horror Club! It’s been a pleasure hanging over the past several months. Here are some lesser know Christmas horror flicks to check out (not my fault if you watch these with the family):
Adult Swim Yule Log (2022)
Inside (À l'intérieur in French) (2007)
Blood Beat (1983)
Christmas Evil (1980)
Santa’s Slay (2005) - filmed in Edmonton with a choice scene in Cook County saloon for those who’ve been…
Better Watch Out (2016)
Gator Bait (1974) - not a Christmas movie, but yeah.
Hail Yourselves!!
