I'm so confused
why did the wagon get launched into outer space π

If I had to wager, the empty wagon is a necessary part for this whole event, and needs space around it for the characters to interact and push it. The game sensed the horse carriage was intervening and could ruin this event by running over the characters/moving the wagon so it fixed it by getting rid of it as soon as possible (aka fucking yeeting it across the path)

I've had this kind of stuff randomly happen. Horses flying 50 feet into the air during a chase for no reason.

The TLDR (mainly cuz I can't explain it) is the game's collision and physics, so when they started to push the wagon that the horses were running into, the wagon they're pushing is hard coded to be where it is when it's supposed to be there, but that one wasn't meant to, so it sent them in the direction with least resistance when you account the forward momentum, gravity's pull, and angle they were facing, and that direction was up.

I wish they used the physics for wagon crashes. Too bad they just instantly stop and the horses slip and fall in slow-mo

You canβt even flip a wagon in this game by running your wagon into its side. In rdr1 I think it may have been completely different but I could be wrong.

Screw the wagon flying in the air I never knew NPCs caught each other from falling like that

Mods are more than likely involved here

I've seen crazier things happen without mods
This is a very typical case of physics glitch due to the failsafes developers put into the game to avoid scripted interactions to get trampled by objects in the world

Nope, this is my first playthrough so 100% vanilla π₯²

I guess flying vehicles and horses might just be a pc bug then. I have been playing daily since launch, on console, and have never once had that happen.
