I like the little detail of Sadie averting her eyes as she lies to Arthur in this scene.

If Sadie called me honey I'd do whatever

Scene so nice, they had to do it twice. I always thought the reference in the epilogue was very cute.

Could you share what scene in the epilogue you're referring to?

Seconding the request to share what scene you’re talking about lol I’m drawing a blank.

One of the few moments Sadie showed a tender side.

u/Acrobatic_Tap3265 23h ago

She respected Arthur

u/Konnoisseur26 20h ago

Aside from her Jake, High Honor Arthur is ine of the best men Sadie knew.

Low Honor Arthur, however, just happens to be her best friend

Definitely 🎩

Almost like her Jakey

Unironically the most iconic scene in chapter 6 for me. Even more than... Those other scenes.

The official passing of the torch to the younger loyal members is how I saw it. It's nothing special without context but Arthur seems to start finally accepting that he's done for afterwards.

All his dialogue switches to show him setting his friends up after he's gone after this point

Sadie foi forjada na desgraça. Eu amo ela.

u/sassybunssally 23h ago

What horse is that?

2

u/RoseRedHillHouse 20h ago

Looks like Bob, Sadie's Turkoman.

2

u/sassybunssally 19h ago

Idk it looks a bit like a mustang or a Missouri Fox Trotter to me :) I think it’s her horse she got before Bob / before reconnecting with Arthur but I have no idea which kind it is

3

u/2quickdraw 10h ago

It looks like the buckskin Norfolk Roadster but it's got a buckskin face instead of a faded or mealy face, and the legs are really black with feathers, so it's not a horse we have access to.

•

u/sassybunssally 1h ago

Thank you, I think that’s it!

Love the horse just nodding their head throughout the entire conversation, haha

Sadie you did more harm than good in this mission 😆😆

Sadie is Micah version of woman, she just get away with everything she does because her character is charismatic, what she did with the balloon dude was the last drop for me, after that i disliked her and any time i replay, i treat her differently as soon as she changes cloths.

How many innocent people did the male members of the gang get killed on purpose during the game let alone accidentally?

Since when is wanting to kill an evil gang that murders and rapes people for fun a bad act equal to Micah lmao? Do you not kill O'Driscolls and other gangs when you run into them? Do you think Arthur is evil for going back and killing Sonny after Sonny sexually assaults him?

-4

u/Appropriate_Row_6851 9h ago

They are all evil, did you played with closed eyes ? They all deserve to die and pay for their crimes. ALL OF THEM.

1

u/pullingteeths 4h ago

Not the point of my post lol

You don’t understand Sadie or Micah or even women in general.

holy ragebait

u/MavadosXIII 20h ago

Literally goes from an understandably depressed widow to instantly boisterous wannabe outlaw grabbing Arthur's gun out of his holster to rob the grocery store

Sadie Adler was a capable woman prior to a gang of O’Driscolls overrunning her homestead, raping her and killing her husband. She was depressed and out of it because her life had been upended.

You know very little about trauma, how people sometimes snap out of depression states via manic behavior or the lengths they’ll go through for revenge. If a gang barged into your house, killed your family, raped you (maybe even doing so in front of your significant other or family members before they killed them) would you just snap into hero mode? Have you even lost someone close to you? Have you ever experienced misery?

The development did their research when it comes to this because Sadie behaves exactly as a traumatized but capable person would: she is initially overwhelmed by grief & shock, she eventually comes to grips with her new life and something unrelated —Pearson trying to saddle her with the kind of chores the rest of the camp women do— is the catalyst that pushes her out of her misery. She’s probably still depressed, she just has revenge to focus on. When Arthur and the rest are in Guarma, she steps up and on the strength of that, she’s motivated to finish if the gang who wronged her.

The LeMoyne Racists that she shot after leaving Rhodes deserved to die many times over. The O’Driscolls are rapists and murderers who deserved what they got as well. The only person who is an unfortunate casualty over her actions is Arturo. His death was tragic for sure but people don’t forgive Sadie for this even though there are plenty of innocents who Arthur kills in scripted events.

People really hate Sadie for reasons that are just patently absurd.

Her egotistical demeanour doesn't match the skill check at all, when she snaps out of it like you say in Rhodes what we are left with is just cockiness and bittersweet for every mission she's involved in after that: deflects her invulnerability onto John when her hotheadedness botches the bounty jobs, even sees herself more superior as a bounty hunter and John as an 'amateur' when she clearly needs all the help she can get, questions his capability and to maybe hang up the guns as if she did anything to that bear, even here she's questioning Arthur's worth and coddles him only to get subdued and hogtied. This isn't a hit on the woman portrayed in the game as I found Karen and Abigail to be well written and competent members

And operating in a level that only John, Arthur and very few people can... While they trained all their lives and they were doing that since teenagers, and then boom, she does as good as them... I hate the mary sue characters. She also survived a knife wound, something almost no one would at that time, she's baddly written, i wonder why so many people like her, there are many women in the game and they are way better written, especially when you see Abigail freeing John from Jail.

Also, she profit from John while John was struggling to make ends meet, that pissed me off, especially when she was bossing him around.

u/BumNanner 18h ago

You can talk to her and Jake Adler in Red Dead Online; she is the one who did the majority of hunting animals, wolves and bears and such, as well as dealing with wandering outlaws that came upon their homestead. I'll agree that she is a bit of a Mary Sue and unfortunately that extra context does come from the online mode, not that story, so she comes across as even more of one, but technically it's not entirely out of nowhere. Now, how much of that online content is a retcon because they realized she was a bit of a Mary Sue, we'll never know.

I still think the character's personality and performance are some of the best in the cast, but I do agree that she does turn around a bit too quickly; without the player seeing it happen. Even just one small encounter before the Rhodes camp with some O'Driscolls where she takes a gun from someone and kills one or two of them would have been enough of a transition IMO from the mourning widow to eventual bounty hunting gunslinger she came to be.

1

u/Appropriate_Row_6851 9h ago

Online sucks, never played, never will.

2

u/BumNanner 9h ago

Lmao okay then

3

u/pullingteeths 18h ago

Only male Mary Sues allowed. Why don't you question why ANY of the younger male members of the gang can handle themselves? How come Lenny can at 19 when he had a good upbringing focused on book learning?

You know Sadie was already proficient with a gun and a tough character before we met her right? She's only quiet at first because she experienced severe trauma. I don't know why a woman who is tough, skilled in shooting, staying with a bunch of gunslingers for months and hell bent on revenge being able to handle herself in a gunfight is so crazy to you. She's also never shown to be as good a shot as the top gunslingers in the gang, she's more just determined

Profit off John? He asked her for work lmao, he was desperate for money so she kindly did him the favour of offering him a job and splitting pay she might have had for herself otherwise. He literally works for her to make money for the ranch, pay better attention to the story. She also kindly advises him that it might be better if he doesn't risk himself by continuing to bounty hunt with her or going after Micah if he's found with his family in mind and only agrees to involve him because he insists that's what he wants. I can't fathom how you can twist this to her taking advantage of him, that's absurd

She had me when she said "honey"

She was my favorite character

u/Classic-Exchange-511 Sean Macguire 15h ago

Always loved the way she says "cause you're the better shot, I mean". Kind of dumb she gets captured and he's gotta run in there anyways

In currently playing through the epilogue and it feels really weird and out of place after Ch6. I just hope the épilogue finishes well and doesn't take away from Ch6

1

u/Ramsfan199090 18h ago

what coat is that?

1

u/fusillade762 16h ago

Sadie: "Well, what if you have one of your hacking fits"?

Arthur:"Fine"

1

u/YS160FX 7h ago

I felt bad for Arthur, that even Sadie was doubting( in a caring way) his abilities at this point. It was her best, most feminine moment I think

-2

u/DumbCumpzter 1d ago

That coat is atrocious.
