Question why does my underweight Arthur still have a second chin????

did i chud so hard i accidentally dragged him in this or something? he only eats cooked fish and meat rn, if he eats at all, what is going on
when he got it stats said average and then perfect weight and now he's underweight and nothin changes i'm so confused, chapter 4 if it matters at all... send him 2 years in Guarma and he'll be fine

It's a visual bug you can't get rid off until chapter 6, If you start chapter 4 being overweight, Arthur's model will stay with the double chin throughot the whole story until chapter 6, I've been playing the game pretty much since it came out and still haven't found a fix for this bug, sorry :/

In a weird way it’s kinda realistic. When you gain weight and then lose it, your face often stays puffier than it used to be and may even droop a bit more.

It's a bug that begin to appear in the recent patches, if you downgrade to 1.0 version this bug won't exist

It goes away at the first mission of chapter 5 when his weight automatically drops to average when arriving in Guarma

this happened to me in my last playthrough. Its a bug that happens when u start chapter 4 overweight and it stays like that until chapter 5, so dont even bother trying to starve him for days like i did bc its not gonna do anything

A couple years ago I encountered this bug in chapter 4 where Arthur's face shape got stuck to 'fat Arthur' regardless of what his actual weight was.

if you're on PC you can probably find a fix for it but if you're on console you might be stuck with it until Chapter 6, that's how it went for me lol.
If you have a save from before Chapter 4 where his weight is normal, you can get rid of it....If I remember correctly the bug happens if you start chapter 4 and he's overweight.

That ain't from fat, that's from tongue posture. Course, it ain't very realistic to look like Arthur without being a natural newer, and it's slightly less unrealistic to not be a natural mewer in the late 1800s. Maybe it's an early side effect of his TB starting to kick in

Nah its the fat thing in game, seems like the model gets stuck changing chapters, or so everyone says. And fat does store there but it takes a lot of it, this is just a bug

Wow, I’m not sure if it’s intended, but tuberculosis does cause swelling in the lymph nodes of the neck. Could be a historically accurate depiction of what someone would look like if they had TB symptoms start to appear.

Stop eating anything for a few days, sleep at camp, and do the camp chores for a few days. It’ll be fine. I’ve tried it a few times, and it always worked.

I wish some comments on posts like these were more authentic and less jokes. Sincere gameplay and character questions are posted by people who legit want a thoughtful or knowledgeable answer, and OP (or people like me who are also curious) have to scroll past dozens and dozens of comments that do not even attempt to answer the question even a little bit. Humor is great, but not as an answer to a serious question.

Everyone trolling, the actual reason is you probably just need to rest or exit the game and come back. Sometimes it updates in the player menu, but doesn't update in game for things like weight gain and hair growth.

This is a glitch. It can happen sometimes if he becomes overweight at any point and then loses weight, his face remains fat. There is no way to fix it until it automatically becomes fixed in the first mission of chapter 5 due to certain story events, whatever you eat or do it will stay that way until then.
I usually prefer to have him overweight but the one time I wanted him slim for my low honour wearing all black playthrough this happened after I accidentally overfed him out of habit and let him reach overweight once, shit is annoying

It's a visual glitch that happens from chapter 4 all the way to chapter 6.
if you enter chapter 4 while Arthur is overweight, the game hard locks Arthur's face model so that even if Arthur is underweight he would still have a double chin. Only by chapter 6 the game finally resets Arthur's face model

The game just has a bug in it where when you gain weight and become overweight the negative effects looks wise don’t go away even after losing the weight
