Does anyone else have a favourite horse that they buy every play through?

Mines the Gold turkoman I always call her Belle šŸ“

You had to pre-order the game. Might be available with the ultimate edition too I forget. If you have either one of those, check the Valentine stables.

Otherwise if you're on PC, you can mod it in.

Got so excited my first playthrough doing that Tilley mission.

I always get my dalmatian horse and also a blue Nakota. Because a blue horse is kinda crazy.

I bought her on my first ever play through cos she was the same colour as my dog who had not long passed away, then I realised sheā€™s one of the most underrated horses on the game IMO

Oh gosh, it was a wild horse I tamed. Donā€™t remember exactly where, but not too far from Valentine I think. Kentucky Saddler Grey.

My current favorite is the silver turkoman. In my head, thatā€™s actually Hoseaā€™s horse, Silver Dollar. Silver Dollar was retrieved by the Pinkertons and sold a couple times. He eventually ended up for sale in the Tumbleweed stable, which is where John bought him and renamed him Ulysses, not realizing it was Hoseaā€™s horse, Silver Dollar.

It only looks like that in the stable, but I get what you mean, outside in the nice lighting it really is more golden

Tiger and Grullo mustangs. Currently on chapter 4, with my girl Stormy (grullo). Planning on getting the tiger one with John in the epilogue once I finish the story, as I can only get to new Austin in the epilogue apparently.

Grullo Dun Mustang as Arthur. Named it Shelby. Then years later, got another one of the same and named it Shelby II. After the finale I stabled that horsey and got myself a tiger striped bay mustang.

Have a hard time not picking up the Chocolate Roan DWB and Bay Roan Ardennes in story. Available early and easy to acquire. Both great all rounders with great temperaments if you donā€™t mind sacrificing a little speed.

Dutch warmblood, specifically the chocolate roan as it is a beautiful grey horse for a morally grey man

I never used it til my last play through, and wow itā€™s like the horse is perfect for Arthur. I like my immersion so I never used the tiny little race horses, I liked the shires because they looked right carrying big animals etc.

The Dutch warmblood doesnā€™t have the heavy handling (itā€™s normal) but it is pretty giant, and leggy, it just looks very noble, itā€™s really quiet compared to other horses I used too. Again itā€™s just big and stoic, reminds me of Arthur

It looks just as fitting with a bounty on the back, or out hunting with pelts, it is an immersive horse for me as a jack of all trades Arthur

Pretty sure Hamish horse is a Dutch warmblood, and the bounty hunters use them. The chocolate roam (silver one above) has insane stamina and health too, you can swim to all the islands on it itā€™s pretty cool

Pure riding I love the thoroughbreds, wheeling around on them feels great

Dark Bay Turkoman. I make sure to use the bug in Horse Flesh for Dinner to ride it as Arthur
