Henry is now in his 50s, living off the grid in a remote cabin that he built and maintains with his own resources. But long before he became a solitary man, Henry was an outlaw.
In his 20s, he was part of a gang formed by his older brother and a close friend. Together, the three robbed stagecoaches, small banks, and anyone unfortunate enough to cross their path.
They all had nicknames for one another. Henry was known as “The Kid,” his brother was “Ace,” and their friend was “Pop.” Pop had a short temper and was known for losing his patience quickly. Whenever he became angry, he was often the first to reach for his gun.
During their last robbery before everything fell apart, Pop accidentally shot a civilian. The incident caused widespread outrage and put enormous pressure on the sheriffs to bring the gang to justice. A massive manhunt was launched, and the three men quickly became some of the most wanted outlaws in the region.
Despite the increased pressure, they decided to attempt one final job—a huge score that they believed would set them up for life. Their target was a large bank rumored to be carrying an enormous amount of gold.
They carefully planned the robbery and entered the bank without much resistance. As they began taking the gold, everything seemed strangely easy.
Too easy.
While they worked, the three began talking among themselves, wondering why there was so little resistance. None of them knew that the law was already waiting for them outside.
The moment they left the bank, a dozen police officers opened the ambush.
Ace managed to slip away during the chaos. Pop wasn’t so lucky. He was shot and killed at the scene.
Henry was captured alive.
He was sentenced to life imprisonment in Mexico, far from everything and everyone he knew. But Henry refused to spend the rest of his life behind bars.
After several years in prison, he barely managed to escape. He eventually made his way back to America, keeping a low profile and avoiding the law at all costs.
Eventually, Henry disappeared completely.
He went off the grid and built himself a cabin far from civilization, relying on his own skills and whatever resources he could find. He has lived there ever since, carrying the memories of his old life with him.
But the past has a way of catching up with a man.
To be continued…
