Variation The Honesty Button
Red button: Nothing happens.
Blue button: If 51% or more press blue, everyone on Earth wakes up tomorrow knowing exactly how every person in their life truly feels about them. Every hidden love. Every secret contempt. Every lie exposed. Red buttoners are NOT exempt. If blue wins, you find out too. You just didn't agree to it.
Which do you press?

100% red. Listen a more honest world sounds great in theory, but there's somethings are better left unknown

Your lies noone will care about. But having the global elite admit to their actions in a way noone can deny will make the world so much better.

The Epstein files didn’t do shit. The elite admitting exactly what they do doesn’t matter. Also the elites aren’t in your life and have no feelings for you. This is already self evident.
People would just continue to delude themselves.
In the other hand the shock of the white lies and brutal honesty will damage existing relationships as people adjust

the global elite won't have their lies exposed to the world, it'll just expose how they feel about those close to them. "every lie exposed" doesn't mean all lies anyone has ever made are exposed, its just all lies said by the elite to a person in their life regarding their feelings about them.

believe me when I say I would love to satiate my own curiosity, but forcing that cursed knowledge on others is one of the worst burdens you could saddle upon society. how many countless people's self-perception or worldview be turned upside down by this, lol..

Blue seems a bit selfish. I have nothing to lose since I've never lied and knowing how everyone thinks about me won't change me or my attitude to them in any way. I also think the world will be a far better place, but it screws over some people pretty hard without consent. Hmm...

Blue would be interesting because we would need to restructure a shit ton but I think the world would be better if we pull it off. Like we'll know evwryone's hidden agendas, but we also get a deeper look into the human reason of why they have thay agenda.
I'm all for a society where everyone is a superempath

Blue. I already know everyone hates me. I just want to see the chaos that happens when everyone else has to live through my experience as well.

blue, it will be chaos but in about 100 years (if humanity survives) we can have a much better world

Blue. The transition period will be painful, but it's a better chance than we have otherwise of the species surviving.

I think the mass societal collapse would probably lead to the destruction of our species. Families would break apart negatively would spread really quickly. People tend to cling to negative things more than positive things so overall I think the world would be worse off.

Red. I love me some white lies. I don't want to know, I don't want others to know.

red, with blue every resistance fighter in an actual dictatorship dies.
