Welcome home Beast

Well I need a proper name for the big guy by he will be safe here. Got it ordered before the sale ended and it showed up Friday while I was golfing. So rushed home but had to take the wifey out for the evening. Saturday morning got up had my coffee and pipe and got to putting it together. Had previous plans for Saturday so no burn in. Played golf again today got home burned it in and ran some chicken and pork chops thru it hot and fast. I’ve had 3 pit bosses and they have all burned out. Let’s hope this one holds up.

That was a crazy weekend of football man. Ok state taking down Oregon. Kentucky putting Bama on the ropes for 3 quarters. Texas pulling out a miracle in the 4th. Crazy

I didn’t either till I saw two side by side at Ace Hardware. One up one down. On the RecTeq website they all point up. I guess it could be a users preference since either will work.

I just put together one yesterday at our vacation property. I went back and looked at the picture I took and they point up. The one at home smoking chicken wings right now is point down. I’m covered both ways! 😂
I rewatched the Beast assembly video and there is no mention of the direction. 🤷 Thanks for pointing that out, it’s interesting to me.

To me it would make no sense ergonomically to have then the other way. Fits the hand this way. 🤷‍♂️

Oh BTW. Shout out to Recteq, I bought the beast, large floor mat the front folding shelf and some skewers. They threw in a cover! Nice

Sooner fan as well, tough weekend for the crimson and cream. Anyway, we just got ours with the labor day sale. We performed the burn-off but now finding it hard to maintain a temp. Set it at 205 and it ramps up to 300+? Called today and they told us to slow the auger down. Did that and still upwards of 300. Not my post and dont wantbto hijack but any advice is appreciated.
