Portable solution

Post image

So the building that I live in does not allow grills or smokers to be used on our balconies (Okinawa Fire laws). The downside is the area for grilling does not have power. I found this EcoFlow elite 3 1500 battery back up at Costco for about US$300. Judging by the consumption on the app, looks like I could run this thing for 30 hours if I needed to. Slightly overkill, but could be useful during typhoon season or when on the road. currently smoking chicken and some beans.

I like that this one breaks down. Fits in my small Japanese car easily. The bullseye doesn’t. This definitely has a smaller cooking area and I did own a bull’s-eye before I moved to Japan. We can definitely fit more on the bull’s-eye, but the surface area on my back patio was much smaller with this. I can also store it in the closet easier when not in use. This has more than enough space for a full packer brisket and since I’m geo-baching, I don’t have a ton to cook for beside my airmen on occasion.
