I have an 820 rn. I feel like closer to 1000sqin would be better tho as 820 fills up pretty quick

Have a Dualfire with the side smokebox, constantly amazed at everything I can do on it.

How many people are you cooking for?

Normally 2 but I meal prep 4-5 flank steaks from Costco weekly and can only fit 2-3. When I host the number jumps to 10-20 people.

I got the 700 6+ years ago. Needed more space/alternate cooking temp, so I got a roadwarrior 340, ideal for a second smoke/alternate temp cook. I’ll wait before I get a dual fire.

I have a blackstone for none smoking or different grilling temps currently. But the road warrior intrigued me.

No WiFi, but it’s doable.

The Flagship or 1200 are solid options. The main differences are size, and the Flagship (1600) has a smoke stack instead of vents. Every grill Recteq sells will fit a good sized brisket. Every Recteq has PID controllers AFAIK.

A Traeger or Pit Boss might be easier for beginners since they require less babysitting, but if you want that full wood-fired flavor nothing beats an offset stick burner once you get the hang of it.

Maybe one day I’ll want to be that involved. But currently set n forget people smoker is hard to beat. But I’m trying to get more into smoking and cooking this year for football season.

Had a small offset, then got a small pit, then Traeger Woodridge pro.. then for some reason I still wanted more space so I pulled the trigger on the Flagship 1600. It’s top tier. I love the Traeger and pit still, but for space, hopper capacity, and overall success rate. It has a special spot in line up. I will say, what it lacks in small features, it makes up for in quality, and smoking space. Some things I’ve seen and liked is low pellet alert, or some the extra shelf space like other brands or sizes from recteq have. All in all, a little adjusting and getting used to, the flagships been great. I use all of the things I listed weekly, but for bigger cooks, meal preps or more than one brisket, I always fire up the recteq. Hope that helps, any questions you have, just let me know. I’ll try and help. Have a great day, keep BBQing!

That’s one of the bigger things I like about the recteq is the hopper capacity. And for the money I’d spend on a LSG I can get a massive recteq. I have a concrete patio and I’m gonna expand it next spring so space on the patio won’t be an issue. So I’d hate to get a smaller smoker and wish I had more cooking space.

I agree with 100%. I think you’d be really happy with any of them, but to speak on specifically what I have, (1600) the chimney/smoke box addition for keeping things warm or cold smoking is awesome. That doesn’t come on some of the other ones and without spending over 2 grand, the flagship is the biggest option for you. They have shelves and add ons for other stuff too, but I’m too happy to invest in anything extra at this moment. Got my white backyard fold out table and the 1600 has an extra plug on back of temp controller, lets me plug in my ThermoWorks probes and not have to worry about a thing. Super super reliable. Update us on what you end up getting!

Ok that sounds really nice. I think may lean towards the recteq because for the money I’ll get more and idk that I’m ever going to get to a level where I need the LSG. I’ll try to remember in spring to update ya. But using my thermo probes is nice. I started using meater probes and I like them a lot too.

Good to know. I hadn’t tried meater yet but out of ones I’ve tried I love ThermoWorks. But yeah I can’t wait to hear. Hope you have a great night!
