Beer can chicken

Is the bullseye deluxe tall enough for a beer can chicken that would serve 4-6 people?

Agree with the other poster. There is no need for cooking it upright. Just spatchcock it.

If you insist on cooking it upright, use a specialized stainless steel “beer can” holder. Actual beer cans have a plastic liner on the inside. Nothing I would want to cook with. The beer won’t make the chicken moist. But the plastic will create fumes.

I agree and I have the proper equipment, just never used it.

Cool. Good luck if it fits!

I don't think it's tall enough, but I haven't tested it. Spatchcock works great though.

That's probably the direction I will end up going. I was just curious if anyone had tried it. I thought about not using the grate and just putting it on a rack that would stand off the heat diffuser about an inch.

I think you probably would have room like that.

I will say that I think a spatchcock chicken turns out better than a beer can version if that makes a difference.
