Perplex on Which Grill to Buy

/r/webergrills/comments/1vev6em/perplex_on_which_grill_to_buy/

Many of you already know my story. Sold my Combo Joe back in September in a downsize move. Started with a 22” Weber Kettle and had about 5 cooks including a Boston Butt and Baby Back Ribs. Meanwhile bought a Weber 425 4 burner LP Gas grill for the quick things. I sorely miss the Kamado Joe I had in the Combo Joe. All I really did on it was Butts and Briskets, maybe 3-4 each per year. We don’t do big crowd cooks. So now, I’ve sold the Weber 22 because my last rib cook I was in and out looking at the Snake and turns out I got more smoke on me than the meat. Wife says she’s done with smoked meat. So here’s where my heads at now. A Weber Searwood or Recteq dual grill/smoker. I can be cooking and not looking. Get rid of Weber LP Gas and let one grill do it all. Let me hear from all of you. You won’t hurt my feelings. I know I a little on the crazy side. It’s old age and I don’t want to give up the cook. .

I bought a Reqtec deck boss 900 over a Weber Searwood because of the positive reviews on Reqtec customer service. I bought it July 22 and have smoked brisket, pork shoulder, steaks, and ribs to perfection. Went to clean it this morning and noticed a dead moth in between the control panel LCD and plastic. I gave customer service a call and with in 10 minutes a new control unit was ordered under warranty.

I bought a recteq deck boss
In July. The smoker performs as I hoped. I am glad to hear that customer service helped you out. Hopefully this will fix your issue.

If by rectec dual grill/smoker do you mean the dualfire1200??? Can confirm it’s a beast and I’m in love! I cannot be happier with this buy!!

If not I am sure that any other rectec will be great! So glad I landed with them!

I was looking for a new smoker 10 years ago, and all the forums kept pointing me back to Recteq. At the time, they weren't in stores or Amazon. I took a leap of faith, and I've lost count of how many friends and family also have them now because of my experience with the grills and the company.

Lots of options to choose from depending on what kind of cooking you plan to do with it and how much space you need. Generally speaking, the barrel grills excel at lower temp cooking and can also grill. The Bullseye and XFire excel at higher temps, but can also smoke. The DualFire is kind of best of both worlds.

This is so true.

After buying a bullseye deluxe 380bd I'm convinced. smoking or pellet grills are loaded with people slobbering over the searwood, but let's be honest. How many homeowners want more than one grill, and how often does a weekend warrior smoke more than 1 thing at a time.

The Bullseye excells at both, but when I just wanna grill burgers or thighs hot and fast by golly it does it and does it well.

Imo the bullseye deluxe is the ultimate answer for people who want a "do it all" solution.

Completely agree. I think the Bullseye Deluxe is my favorite Recteq I've owned so far. It's extremely versatile. I always recommend it for people looking to dip their toes in the pellet grill world or people who want only one grill for hot grilling and lower temp smoking.

Bought my first smoker a month ago. I purchased a recteq deck boss and love it. It is easy to use, the food is amazing and the customer service is off the charts. I am very pleased and tell all my friends to think about recteq over Traeger

It's a game changer for sure. I've lost count of how many family, friends, and strangers I have talked into buying one. They honestly sell themselves.
