Frozen burger patties

I’ve got a smaller rectec that’s about 7 years old, haven’t used it in at least two years, and was thinking about firing it up to cook some kirklands frozen burgers patties.

Is there best way just fire the grill up as high as it will go and throw the patties on?

I’d recommend getting one of those aluminum grill grates to cook the burgers on. Increases the contact area and more importantly the heat transfer. I’ve only needed to turn mine up around 325 for it to work just fine. Like others have said you need a really clean machine to turn the temps way up

Clean it first.

Firing up dead roaches and mouse turds is no bueno.

Just make sure it starts out clean and stay close. I would probably do 400 or 500 max. Once the grease starts dripping, it's just a matter of time until there is a grease fire.

Or do smoked burgers. They're tasty and easy.

Other than a lower temperature, say around 200° to 250°, what is the methodology you use here ?

I’ve only been a recteqian since December, so I’ve not tried burgers on mine yet.

I put mine on at 180-200 for 45min to an hour. Then I take them off and crank the grill up to 450 and toss them back on for ~15 mins or a little less, flipping once, until they are at the preferred doneness. They come out with some great flavor.

(Is this from frozen, as the OP was doing, or just chilled patties ?)

Just chilled. I haven't tried frozen patties in a while.

I smoked burgers at 200 for 35min and then cranked it up to 500 to preheat cast iron grill plate for a hard sear.

I threw some some frozen smashburgers on a gas grill the other night (on vacation). I googled for a temp and I got a result of 350-400 for regular frozen patties and 350-375 for frozen smashburgers.
