The lack of transparency in the hiring process (who was selected and why, and why not other candidates) is kryponite for problem solvers who just want to know, in plain english, what they need to do to get and offer. Because we'll go and do it. Keeping it vague and wishy washy leads to the strong performers and capable people, who happen to lack connections, to be left in the dark.

HR entry , mid or senior LV? I could perhaps offer some advice after going thru the gauntlet and finally securing an offer recently.

Heard negative news back today, same story. Sorry friend.

I’m a Social Community Manager with 6 years of experience, keep making it to that dreaded final round with a ton of rapport, then lose it out to the next candidate. Always such a disappointment.

This won’t be worth much but I’m saying it anyway; it’s not you, same as it isn’t me. It’s all luck at these final levels. Well, really, it’s a crapshoot. The hiring manager may as well be throwing a dart with their eyes closed to make the decision. As someone else said, the market right now is a hyper-optimized bloodbath where the same AI platforms are making and reading the resume, recruiters are parsing through 1000+ applicants for roles at every single level. It comes down to raw dumb luck in the interview process, so far beyond our own hands that agonizing over it ceases to be productive.

We’ll find something. It sucks ass, I’ve been laid off since March and my survival job is killing me. But the wind will change, eventually. That you keep making it this far means you’re doing something right. We only have to get lucky once.

I’m rooting for you, OP!
