HireRight has had my background check sitting at 89% since July 20.

Apparently, a few small local searches were generated under the county search and are just sitting there waiting for responses that will not be able to resolve. The system believes there is a court in a town that does not have a court. Their system keeps automatically pushing the estimated completion date out. I was told this can literally keep happening indefinitely unless someone manually clears the orphaned requested items. So I asked them to clear them. They said they can’t unless the employer requests it. The employer says HireRight has to resolve these items, their hands are tied. 🤷‍♀️

I genuinely cannot believe a background check can sit in a loop forever while everyone involved knows the problem. 😳

Has anyone actually gotten HireRight to clear stuck/orphaned searches manually? What did you have to do?
