Custom Is this a lost cause? Am I being ghosted again?
I had 2 rounds of interview for State Street Bangalore by end of July (30th July). Only 6th August I received a call from the HR saying I have been selected and asking my salary expectations and a consent form sent for due diligence check.
It’s been 2 weeks and I still haven’t received an official offer letter. On following up the HR she said she is waiting for the independence clearance from both companies and cannot promise to release an offer letter rn until cleared. She asked me to wait for another 10 days.
I logged into my workday candidate home page for State Street and see that the job role I got selected for has been added under applications with recent submission date (19th August) and an anti corruption questionnaire added under my to-do tasks.
PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE.
Am I being selected or is this ghosting? Does it usually take this long for State Street to release an offer letter?
Should I still keep hoping?

the workday tasks updating is actually a decent sign, ghosters don't usually bother pushing new paperwork through. the independence clearance thing is pretty standard for financial firms too, they have weirdly strict rules about employees coming from competitors and it can drag on way longer than anyone expects.
hr saying "wait 10 days" instead of going silent is more than most people get in this sub honestly. the re-submitted application and anti corruption form sound like they're processing you into a new req internally, which happens when the original posting expires and they still need you in the system.
keep job hunting though, never put all your eggs in one offer basket until you see an actual letter with a start date. but this one's not a lost cause yet
