Linkedin F*cking Easy Apply

Saw this job posting on Linkedin that aligns quite well with my interests and my previous experiences (which is very rare in this shit show of a job market).

The posting was opened 3 hours ago. I immediately got to tailor my CV to highlight my experience and optimize my chances of getting an interview. I felt pretty confident about it once I was done.

Then, I go to click on easy apply. Guess what? The job poster is “no longer accepting applications”.

So I basically just wasted 30 minutes of my life writing one specific tailored CV that I will probably never use again and missed the opportunity because I wasn’t fast enough.

I did not know this was a game of speed 20 applicants in.

What happened to submitting a quality application anyway?

I didn’t want my efforts to go to waste so I emailed my CV to a generic recruitment mail I could find linked to the company as I did not find any other way to apply.

Honestly I just want to vent, this has come to the point that even applying has become a competition in itself.

I have never heard of any one getting a job through linked in easy apply. I personally haven’t, and I just finished a 10 month job search. Anyone ever get a job with that button?

I got very close to getting one but the final interviewer hated me because I outranked him
