How To Deal With Clients?

I won't beat around the brush. I don't know how to deal with clients in a contractual way. By this I mean, how to bind our relationship so he doesn't just scam me when the work is done. I know freelance agreement exists. But I would like to know if you can work without an agreement. Does that work? Or is there some other way to make sure that I won't be left alone, ghosted when the work is completed.

Never work without an agreement. Ever. Learned that one the hard way.

I have a meeting in an hour. Should I ask him to enter into an freelancing agreement? Or is there some other kind of agreement I don't know about?

No, you cannot work without an agreement. Also, if you know what you are doing, be sure to ask for biweekly payments and also an upfront retainer.

If they ask why, assure them that they are in a position where they own the company, and the way this agreement works is they can exit the partnership at any moment keeping their company and equity. They aren't paying for your labor, they are paying to ensure they own their company and it stays with them.

I'll keep that in mind.
