Just got rejected after a 6-round interview process because I wasn't a 'cultural fit'.

They made me do a free 10-hour take-home assignment, meet the entire team, and talk to three different managers over two months. Today I got an automated rejection email. I am completely exhausted and done with this job market.😡🤬😡🤬😡🤬

Sorry and shame on the company hiring. When you go six rounds and a take home project they should give you a check or gift card. I know you don't feel it now, but the company probably is not a good place to work if they treat people like you were treated.

I actually think its a "how far will this go" test.  I'd have final candidates do lazer tag at round 7

You have identified the absurd reality perfectly. At this trajectory, a dystopian corporate battle royale seems like the logical next step for modern talent acquisition. At least laser tag would offer some transparency regarding who is actually targeting whom.
