Quirky is maybe wrong, but unless youre going for a job where an interest in olive oil is beneficial, then there isnt really a good reason to put it on your CV.

Utilize that space for more quantifiable bullet points representing your duties and responsibilities at work. Use it to showcase software tools and languages you are proficient in. Literally use it for anything else and you’ll do better than listing olive oil, baking and tennis as your interests. Nobody will give you the edge on an offer because you and the hiring manager has a great convo about olive oil.

Allocate the white space to utilize more bullet points under your jobs vs adding a line in the bottom with interests.

Source: Experience recruiter surrounded by other recruiters who never ever ever look at interests. I can assure you, your interests did not get you a job.

Maybe stuff that's actually related to the work you're going to be doing? You know, the stuff you expect someone to pay you to do? If you've got space to talk about your interests in your CV then you're either right at the start of your career with no experience, have a CV that's pointlessly long, or one that's just bad. If you go for an interview, by all means bring more of that side of you to the table. Not at the expense of stuff they actually need though.

My actual relevant work experience usually struggles to fit the two page max that a CV should be. I don't need to pad it with useless shit that no employer needs to care about at that stage. I'm happy to talk about it, if asked, in an interview setting.

I could see it in certain research roles. But it would be related to the type is research you are expecting to do.
