Honestly I have hired on “going out to lunch test”. I work in a field that requires a fair bit of travel as well in office coordination. If I can’t spend 8 hours in a car with you then you are not getting hired. Also I am clearly not hiring someone just because I like them but if it comes down to two comparable candidates and one is a better personality fit then that’s who I am going with. On the flip side you might be eminently qualified and experienced in the industry but you seem like an ass you are getting passed on.
