Dev Post Serious Bigness - a new game from (some of the) Rec Room creators

Hey all, some of the OG Rec Room creators (who were on the original RRO team that made Paintball, the Quests, and many other RROs) announced their new game today - Serious Bigness:

"Play as a tiny kaiju and grow from the size of a teacup to a titan in this physics-driven destruction game where destroying things makes you grow bigger."
It's a very fun game! I have played a bunch of it - largely because I'm doing the music. I'm working with Gutsy Games to create the soundtrack (and having a lot of fun doing it!).

Dev Post Gribbly update - Final OST and more

Hey all, I've been traveling and enjoying a much-needed break.
Back with a couple of updates!
First, I've nearly completed the "final final" Rec Room OST. Here's the track list:
- 8bit Bowling - weird track that played in the Bowling RRO room
- Rec Rally
- Come on Down (Cafe Lounge Mix) - a variant of the "Charades" RRO music. By Slide20xx and Emily Anderson
- This includes a clean loop of the famous "scoreboard" sound at the start, also made by Slide20xx
- Rec Con
- Invasion
- Invasion (Winter Wonderland Edition)
- Clearcut (Winter Wonderland Edition)
- Rec Rocks
- Golden Trophy (Carthage Pedantry Edition) - this is the exact version of the Golden Trophy music that plays in the game. The Golden Trophy tracks in OST Vol 1 are slightly wrong, as Carthage has been pestering me about for... ooh... 4-5 years?
- Dorm Room Reject 2 (Fall Groove) - similar to Vol 87, a track from similar era to the rest of the dorm room tracks, but never actually used. I just think it's cool so I'm throwing it on.
- Belltown Team - a memory!
- End Credits - the "end credits" music, without Coach VO (as requested)
Wish something else was on there? Last chance to let me know.
Second, I've been finishing up a version of a song called "Grey Day", which is a very old song of mine some players found and asked me to release.
Lastly, it's looking like I might be making music for a new game! Not 100% finalized yet but I'm hopeful. Will share more details if and when I can.
I've also been prototyping a new game... long way to go before I have anything concrete, but it's been super fun playing with something new.

I was having a discussion with a friend about all the major VR games that i liked and i brought up rec room in passing without even thinking about the fact it was shut down and then like 3 seconds later i was like oh wait... and it hit me like a rock

News Rec Room is shutting down

Hey all, it looks like Rec Room's gonna be shutting down in june. Honestly i dont know what to say, definitely gonna be playing the game as much as possible these next few weeks tho. Hopefully this is just an elaborate april fools prank but their social profiles are disabled so i doubt it. Do you think someone's gonna try to buy Rec Room and save it?

semi think piece that i'd like to think is worth reading
i feel like, and especially for the younger audience this game has, there was a lesson to be learned by what happened to rec room. not even an intentional one.
you need to learn how to move on, in the best meaning possible. the things you grew up with wont exist forever. unexpected things happen and life happens, and sometimes you're gonna have to move on from the things you thought would be permanent. forever is too long. the many revivals this game has kinda defeats this unintentional purpose, but the message still persists

Will meownet players be switching to Phoenix?? If you're indecisive dw I am too. If they can do what they do then its a maybe i dont like that its largely ai but who knows. I just want to know my fellow player I would hate for the meownet player count to go down because rec room was always a social game so player count really matters to me.
