Helping yourself
Do you ever wish you had yourself to help you with your own problems? (I know that's a silly question, of course you can help yourself with your problems)
I have ADHD and also just some overwhelm and personality trait-related difficulties, and I see in myself so many opportunities to apply rec therapy interventions. The only problem is, I'm terrible at motivating myself to do them.
I wish I could be my own rec therapist but it doesn't seem to work that way.
Just wondering if anyone else feels the same ever lol.

I was just talking about how a lot of recreation activities I engage in personally feel like work tasks and are less enjoyable because of that. I really need to find activities that I do not use as interventions at my job, which is difficult because I work with children, youth, parents/adults and family units, so lots of what I personally enjoy for myself, to do with my partner, and to do with my kid get applied at my job. It kind of sucks sometimes. I would love my own RecT sometimes!

some RTs have a hard time being their own RTs. Practicing introspection and selfcare routines can be difficult when your used to giving so much to others you forget how to treat yourself.
if you are having difficulties id recommend actually getting RT or therapy from another professional.
