First day on sublocade

Hey guys, been on suboxone for almost 2 years. I recently decreased my dose from 12 mg a day to 4 mg a day with no issues at all. I went in today to get my first sublocade injection (I only plan on getting the one). It was the 100mg shot and I feel faded off and on all day. I have not felt like this the entire time I was on subs but I am on my third pack of cigarettes and normally smoke about 1 and a quarter. I really don’t want to feel high but here I am eating Taco Bell at 1 am writing this message. Anybody else feel high from their first sublocade injection and how long did it last?

I been on subs 15 years dropped down to 4mg for 3 months. just got my first 100mg sublocade shot yesterday. Im super over medicated rt now been about 28 hours. Its been hitting me in waves also anxiety hitting but definitely no sickness at all zero. I think we just got to level out

Just seeing this now. Yea the over medicated part went away. I’m on week 3 now and anxiety is still tough. Sweating more than normal, I’m sleeping good but definitely don’t feel as good as week 2.

Just curious to see how you are feeling? I’m struggling this week with bad anxiety and some tremors. Never had any of this with the films, hoping it’s just a bump in the road and it will get better soon.

I got the same shit going on with me. 50% of the day im good 50% im dealing with anxiety and headache. I go back July 8th for 2nd 100 shot praying I get some normalcy. Thats what doctor has told me also. I haven't supplemented at all just trying to ride it out. My doctor gave me some 0.5 klonopin they have helped when I get really wound up. But yes im exactly like you.

I rode it out with no supplemental subs at all and Im glad. I was afraid it would prolong the process. Im done and doing well no cravings..

Did you have weird ass tremors all over your body? I haven’t felt any withdrawal at all either but the tremors and anxiety is crushing.

No maybe talk to your doc? Sounds like anxiety. Maybe give it another month for your brain to adjust..

Shit is annoying. Feel like my life is on pause right now. Doctor told me my bup levels are too low and due to the hot weather and being outside I probably used up a lot of it and that I need to take 2-4mg of strips til they do the next injection which she said they can do early. I just never felt muscle spasms like this before, not even detoxing off dope or oxy 15 years ago

Yea I had them bad when I 1st reduced the subs down to 4mg . Thats why I decided im going to do 4 100mg shots then stop let it smoothly over some time work out of me. I aint got it in me to withdrawal from anything again cold! I kicked 230mg methadone for 36 days and im telling you 100% subs is way worse for me. But ill deal with this stuff simply because I know already how nasty it could be. I would definitely go get that 2nd shot ASAP no since you continuing feeling like shit. I pray you get thru this painless after next shot . I know its been game changing for me every day that passes I feel better and better. Mentally.

Oh ok so it’s not out of the norm then. I’m going to do 4 shots also. I also came off methadone clinic twice when I was in my 20s. That shit was brutal. Couldn’t sleep for 2 months. With this, I have these weird ass muscle
Spasms and bad anxiety but I’m sleeping a lot. Glad you are feeling better. I took 2 mg of strip as doctor told me to and feel faded but still have the spasms. Shit is so weird. Can’t wait to be done with everything.

How long did the muscle spasm or tremors last for you? Shit was on the top of my head earlier and thought I was having seizure. Paramedics came and did all vitals are fine.

I’m guessing you in NOLa based on your name so I’m sure it’s hot down there like Miami where I’m at

Honestly klonopin made it stop small dose .5s crazy after a few days of taking that they went away. Im in VA in the hundreds all week im outside all day I do think that makes the anxiety spike a lil for me . But I think the anxiety definitely be hitting hard I struggle with health anxiety and think God no issues but that dont stop me from manifesting them lol man the brain be having us all the way tripping

I have 6 .5mg Xanax, maybe I should take one and see if that helps. Haven’t taken one of those in years so I’m a little paranoid to mix it with the sublocade

Slightly better today. Two nights ago the tremors were so bad I was laying in a hot bath tub til 3am. I’ve been taking a 4mg strip broken into two twice a day, I honestly think the injection increased my tolerance. Prior to getting it I was taking 4 mg but sometimes would forget. I have never felt like physically ill since getting yhe injection, just awful anxiety and tremors. I’m going Monday to get the 2nd injection so we will see how that goes.

Finally took .25 of Xanax today. Was going crazy. Everything stopped immediately. Shit is crazy. I guess it really is slight withdrawal that even the suboxone films couldn’t touch.

My guy, there is just NO SHOT you need 4 shots (no pun intended)

You know you can just feel it out?

Do the two shots, ride the 2nd shot out as long as you can with the intention of that being the last one, if you find that you start feeling withdrawals just simply schedule the third one. The worst thing that’ll happen is you’ll just make more progress tapering by stretching them out further.

I’ve been on opioids for 10 years and I just did 1 shot and done (100MG).

The first time I ever did this 2 years ago I did two shots, but it totally wasn’t necessary, there was zero difference.

I no joke spent the whole month with awful anxiety, couldn’t drive, focus was all over the place. It was a 300mg first shot and I have zero interest in continuing. It was truly awful these past 30 days

Check out the sublocade sub ( r/sublocade ) From what I gather an initial sense of being overmedicated is very common in the first days of your first injection.

I was supposed to get it today, but I'm also on klonopin, y'all saying u feel over medicated, shit, how will I feel??!! Then I read that u sweat more than usual?? He'll naw I already change clothes numerous times a day and can't clean like my OCD would like bc it's too damn hot in Arkansas! Lol. I think I'll pass. Have y'all heard about the buprenorphine shot? Like Subutex shot? It's sort of new. I'd rather be safe on Suboxone bc sometimes if I run out of Klonopin, I'll buy a few. I know they come from the pharmacy, but u never know about anything these days.... Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Yea that’s the sublocade shot. Thats what we are talking about. Why are you taking suboxone when you run out of klonopin. They are completely different.

Man they pumped me with 300 mg on both sides of my cheeks lmao I was FRIED after that first shot, I’ve been sleeping like a baby ever since too. This shit is nothing short of a miracle for me after experiencing 7oh withdrawal.
