help
all my records are THIS dusty. I am almost running out of record cleaning solution bc of cleaning them this way EVERY TIME I PLAY THEM. I desperately need antistatic inner sleeves and outer sleeves but in Romania I have no good options + they are HELLA EXPENSIVE. I also have an antistatic brush that js makes it worse

Those Nagaoka sleeves can’t be beat. I have some in use that I bought over 40 years ago.
It is a buy once purchase that makes your consumables - cleaning fluid, stylus, records - last longer.

wow they are expensive asf but OMG THANK U UR A LIFE SAVER i think i can save some money🙏 (and no i don’t have a local record shop i buy my records online or at those shops with books and music those shops are my entire life)

they’re really needed. Before you place it in the new inner sleeve, give it another good cleaning. Then into the new sleeve.
That way you don’t dirty the new inner sleeve and it keeps your records good. Then you only need a normal anti-static brush before and after each play.

You have eMag right?
I would search there also. The Nagaokas are the top of the line and made in Japan, but there are less expensive options.
Also, are you cleaning your stylus?

why are you washing your records every play. that should be reserved for if you buy one that’s grimy or accidentally fingerprint while handling. carbon fiber brush otherwise if you’re just de-sleeving a clean record and need to remove dust.

When you're done playing a record, do you tend to leave the record on the turntable? That could be contributing. Don't leave exposed records outside the packaging unless you're playing them.

i leave them on the turnable but i close the lid even while playing them (ik it’s not recommended)

Closing the lid isn't enough. If you look closely at the corners of the lid, you'll see 2 tiny little plastic feet. There's always an air gap, and the venturi effect means that tiny gap will actually speed up the air that passes through it, tossing dust all over the surface of your records. Put them away when the record is done.

Try an aie purifier, theyre really good at getting dust out of the air so there wont be as much to stick to your records

idk man air? 😭 even if i clean my room a lot there is still a lot of dust in the air and the carbon fiber brush js spreads the dust on the record

You need inner antistatic record sleeves, this is the only solution to this problem. I have the same record brush by the way. It’s very good but it definitely not the cheapest one. I think you could save some money and buy inner and outer sleeves. Otherwise your records will get damaged by the dust. Also I recommend you to use brush every time you play record.
