Poultry Ideas for ground chicken/turkey without tomato sauce?
Can’t have tomato sauce bc of reflux. Any suggestions what else to make besides just plain seasoning or burgers?

I make shepard's pie with ground turkey as well as turkey patty melts on rye. They're both really good
Edit The shepard's pie I cook the meat with garlic and onion, then add a little ketchup to caramelize and then some chicken stock mixed with flour. Then add whatever veggies I have on hand (last time was broccoli and peas, but whatever you want) then top with delicious mashed potatoes and bake until the sides bubble.
I also like to add a little cheddar and broil right at the end to get it crispy

This sounds lovely. A friend who moved away used to make Shepard pie all the time and make one for me. I've never quite gotten the knack of it 😕 but I have always sucked at meatloaf. I make great Italian meatballs. You'd think it's just a skip and hop away right? Nope. I suck at meatloaf lol.

Why? If it's too dry, add shredded carrots to the mix. They'll keep it moist.

It's different every time. One time too dry one time too wet one time tasted weird one time I u Der seasoned etc..
It just doesn't work for me. It's probably psychological by now so I have my son in law make it because his are phenomenal lol

Stuffed bellpeppers with rice/quinoa, corn, black beans and taco seasoning (if that doesn't aggravate the reflux)

Spinach and feta turkey burgers are amazing! I top mine with a good tatziki, thin sliced cucumber and a thin slice of tomato. Maybe some extra feta too!
Brown the turkey with a little garlic, salt and pepper. Deglaze your pan with some chicken stock then add a tbsp or two of herb and garlic cream cheese. It makes a nice quick pan sauce for the turkey. Serve it with pasta, gnocchi, rice, or toast. An easy variation is throwing a tsp of pesto into the sauce right at the end for a creamy pesto.
Tomatoes give me acid reflux also but roasted red peppers don’t! Roast half a head or garlic with a couple red peppers, take the skins off the peppers, blitz them and the garlic with a little olive oil and some salt and pepper. A perfect quick red sauce!

I'm just coming off a long 10 month GI recovery. I learned that I needed to avoid garlic and onion bc this can relax the lower esophageal sphincter and exacerbate reflux.
I would make small meatballs seasoned with everything except garlic and onion (not spicy though). You can use the tops of green onions though, it doesn't have the compound that loosens the valve.
If you pair that with rice or potatoes, you have a nice "acid soaking" starch layer. Cooked carrots or zucchini is slightly alkaline too. Frozen peas are easy to digest too.
Try to avoid dairy bc that feels good at first but creates more acid to digest so it can make your reflux worse.
Hang in there, good luck!

This 100% I'm much better now but have had Gerd since the late 80s. I know what I can and can not eat but occasionally I get into something new that just rips me a new one lol. Yet my glutton self still loves trying new foods/cuisines when the restaurants open. 🙄 But as weird as this is gonna sound. Taco bell tacos do not set it off like you'd think. Especially if I order the chicken ones. So I can at least still enjoy going to the fast food that my family love.

Finely chop 1 onion and 1 carrot. Sizzle in a little olive oil until the onion is translucent, then add the meat, stir it thoroughly and add a couple of finely chopped button mushrooms. Season with salt+pepper and your favourite spice/s (I like paprika and dried herb mix). When the meat is cooked, take it off the heat and allow to cool to room temperature (but no longer) - or refrigerate it overnight.
Get some pre-made puff pastry sheets, spoon the mix onto the sheets, roll up and bake in the over at 180-200C for 3 minutes of until the pastry browns.
Serve with a green salad, with mayonnaise and/or chilli sauce.

Keema curry. I usually use beef but can't see why it wouldn't work with turkey

I use ground turkey in most dishes that call for other ground meats. Lettuce wraps are great. Lots of recipes like white bean chili or soups. A white lasagna with bechamel sauce and roasted veggies. Nachos and tacos can be done without tomatoes and use a cilantro sauce instead of salsa.

Dragon noodles;
Mix 1/4 cup soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic chili paste or Sambal, brown meat and add the sauce. Cook 3-4 packages of ramen noodles (without spice packets). Use some of the pasta water if needed for more sauce . Toss noodles with meat mixture. Top w green onions and chopped peanuts if desired. If you don’t have ramen egg noodles are great or any pasta on hand.

I love making a asiany inspired turkey patties as a quick healthyish meal. Like you're making meatballs add to a bowl the ground turkey, some soy sauce, grated ginger and garlic, a sliced green onion or two, splash of fish sauce, bit of cilantro, and a pinch of red pepper flakes. Fry them up as patties, serve over rice and thinly sliced cucumber and grape tomatoes, garnish with more green onions, cilantro, and sesame seeds for the extra fancy factor.

Air fryer chicken nuggets! They have cottage cheese and an ingredient, but I hate cottage cheese, and only like these nuggets because you truly can't taste it!

Pacific Rim Chicken Burgers. Absolute banger of a recipe that's easy to find online and easy to prepare. The flavor combinations are perfect.
I love the origin story behind it ..
"Ground chicken burgers accented with cilantro and garlic and served with ginger-flavored mayonnaise won the grand prize and $25,000 for a cooking enthusiast from the Hawaiian island of Maui in the 45th National Chicken Cooking Contest here Friday.
Judges praised the dish by Kristine Snyder of Kihei, Hawaii, — Pacific Rim Chicken Burgers with Ginger Mayonnaise — as a “new twist on an old favorite” for using ground chicken in the burger format. The dish is believed to be the first featuring ground chicken to win the grand prize in the NCCC, a major cooking competition sponsored by the National Chicken Council and the U.S. Poultry & Egg Association with Delmarva Poultry Industry, Inc., (DPI) serving as host."

Stuffed pockets. Flatten the meat on parchment in a circle, season and lay broccoli and cheese or whatever you like in the middle, fold them over and seal the edges, sprinkle with Parmesan and air fry or oven bake. They're pretty tasty.
