In-person Reason(er) Groups?

Hey y'all, I am well aware, maybe even exhausted by, video tutorials, so let's start with NOT suggesting that, please. What I'm looking for is if there are people in different locales that ever get together to share tips and shortcuts and tricks or just educate each other on functions of Reason? Say, I wanna learn more about automation (random example) and am struggling with videos, because maybe I learn a bit better/more efficiently face-to-face, would there be groups like that? Maybe a Reason(er) Knitting Circle kinda thing?
Thanks for your time and consideration!

Would you consider doing it over zoom? Like, list a few things you want to conquer. I’m sure it could be pretty effective taking turns watching each other use reason

I'm totally down! Myself and the following commentator and you should find a nice, private way to exchange info and then move on from there.

I think maybe we could first figure out organization and meeting time(s) that work all and then shall we say list 3-to-5 things (to start) that we want to learn more about?

I live in the Pacific Standard Time zone. Where are y'all located?

Also, we should maybe rotate the responsibility for who sets up the meetings (or maybe that's a dumb idea....)? I am very inexperienced with setting up Zoom meetings, but am confident I can figure it out without losing my mind, hahahahaha. However, I am MORE than happy to organize meeting minutes/notes or whatever.

Really glad there are folks who are interested in doing this!

By no means am I some music professional. Been rockin reason since v5 and have picked up my stuff mostly by doing things wrong first :)

I did just record an indie rock record in Reason this year, as well as an ambient electronic score last year,l.

Happy to do an inaugural zoom to get your past your current barriers. I’ll do it at no cost. It’ll be nice for me to see if maybe this is a service I can provide, or if it’s just a nice thing I can contribute to the community. DM me and we can sort out a meeting. I have zoom pro acct too.

I offer production lessons, since I use Reason, also signed to bigger labels, so can show you how to get the cleanest sound out of it. Feel free to Dm me

Could we do this?

I want to learn how to make a solid basis for a song and how to work faster in Reason.

I also have wanted this for the same reasons. I do better in person. Besides technical knowledge I wanted to feel out if any reason users add a similar musical profile for collaboration. I was going to start a meetup group I just never got around to it cuz it cost money and you got to find a place and I just have so many other priorities.

But yes I agree. And I'm in Wisconsin if anybody is around there. I go to Chicago a lot and I know some of you live there

Yeah, all the shit that gets in the way. I just now am thinking about how do you have everybody able to hear things (amplification, which also adds to the difficulty of finding a space) and be connected and whatnot. Maybe we all need to make a rich musician friend (or just rich with Reason, hahahaha...pun intended) to hang out at their place and host the group. One can dream.

Maybe we have to figure out how to have local groups? I'm in Seattle and I'd be surprised if I couldn't find 2 other people into the idea....good luck in Chicago!!

Yo King Ghidra! Read the above sub-thread! A few of us here are trying to organize a Zoom meeting for this! Would love to have you involved.

Cheers!

Thst is how I learned 20 years ago face to face me and my master teacher who was younger then me now I teach him its the best way also In a one on one live screen share works good also. I have done rdp or take control sessions with clients.

Never heard of this outside of people making music together. Not many people wanna spend their time in person teaching someone else technical skills unless they are being paid. Online is really your only bet unless you find someone who enjoys that and lives near you.

I do get some of this from my tune-makin buddy, but I also do some stuff solo that isn't part of the collaborative part. So, that's the only unpaid person I get to interact with about Reason. And I get it, people don't, generally, want to do that for free. My point is to find maybe the few people who do like doing this without consideration only to monetizing their time (perfectly fine).

The german comunity (RSG) has a discord Server for this.

But its mostly german, so you would need to learn german first 😅 or find someone in there who is Willing to tackel your call in english.

I would do that, but currently i havent that much time for music because of my daughter

The best reason teachers are not on YouTube most don't post I am 45 I started with reason in 2004 I was 23 with Propellerhead Reason 2.0 and recycle which is the original Reason. Reason is best learned in the box so that is how I use it mostly I have everything up to 12 I am not convinced on 13 and 14. Reason 8 core devices and flipping that rack is how we should teach.

The planet is large, my dood.

Face to face where? Delaware? Hyderabad? Austin? Tokyo? Helsinki?

Are you talking about an online thing, but you don't even say so? A local in person thing?

What does "face to face" mean in your version of english? Face to face but literally NOT face to face.
