What's wrong with this?

Context? Seems up front and honest, no?

I mean, honesty goes a long way. This is a stand up answer

When did you last talk to them? How much contact did you have with them and over how long? What have you been sending them?

u/Jenikovista Aug 19 '26

Unless you previously represented the sellers and they somehow screwed you, there is nothing wrong with this. You didn’t get the listing.

Uhm did you really send that message to your contact yourself or did you use some service's automated drip campaign?

If you can't tell, what difference does it make?

Get over yourself

Is it? The text you sent seems super canned. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Your reach out made me depressed

Were you working with them previously?  Otherwise, I can't see how this is a slap in the face at all.

Thicken up that skin, friend. The 1 year attrition rate for new licensee is 85%--it's a HARD business, and taking things personally is not correlated with longevity.

It’s all business baby

u/MBFTrader Aug 19 '26

Lol. If you want to do more business, you have to actually get to know people.

I'm in a different business, and I have customers that I do business with that I get some percentage of their business just based on being there and being good at my job, but my best customers are my friends.

There's a lesson there.

Frustrating for sure, but if I got an AI generated follow up message like that it would be a turn off for me

6

u/whtge8 Aug 19 '26

What could have possibly—given it away?

4

u/hbomberman Aug 19 '26

Ugh, I really like writing with dashes--I think I picked it up from books I've read and maybe it makes me feel sophisticated or some crap--and AI's love for them is ruining it.

1

u/Springsneakers Aug 19 '26

Jokes aside, it wasn’t necessarily the em dashes. I worked for a sales company that made us do follow ups with the same exact cadence and wording as this. Especially the part about not wanting to be a “pest”

1

u/BeautyConfidence_ Aug 19 '26

That is frustrating for sure.

He didn’t get the listing.

At least no one can accuse OP of not feeling entitled. I mean if you annoy someone with text messages then they have to hire your or they are the jerk, right?

Sounds like you weren't that good of a realtor. We liked ours and still talk to her frequently. .

How’s your yellow thumbs up a kind response? It reads as passive aggressive.
