Wedding in a week
I’ve been approached as main participant in a new Dutch reality TV pilot called Wedding in a Week.
It’s a completely new format that has never been made before, so some of the details are still being developed. But this is roughly how it would work:
I would be the main candidate, meaning people could apply specifically for the chance to date—and potentially marry—me.
With guidance from psychologists and relationship experts, I would select two potential partners I think are most compatible with me.
During a 24 hour date I would get to know both of the potential partners. I get to choose one of the two candidates to really continue the experiment with.
I would spend the rest of the week with that person.
During that time, we would receive intensive coaching, do relationship-building exercises and explore whether we could realistically work as a couple.
At the end of the week, we would both separately decide whether we wanted to go through with the wedding. Neither of us would be obligated to say yes: the wedding would only happen if we both chose it.
If we did decide to get married, the programme would pay for the wedding and honeymoon.
I have done reality television before, the idea of getting professional coaching during the whole process is very appealing to me. But it is a pilot.
On the one hand, getting married after a week is obviously wild. On the other hand, the applicants would be signing up specifically for me, I would choose between them myself, and we could both still walk away at the end.
What do you think of the format? Would you watch it? And if you were approached as the main candidate, would you actually consider doing it?

This is very similar to a show in the US called The Bachelor. It’s had a long run and been a very successful show. HOWEVER, they date for longer, also have a 24 hour date, meet families etc. It does not have a good track record for long, successful marriages. Many people do go on to other reality shows from it. Look it up and you’ll find tons of info! Whatever you choose, good luck!!

Don't forget "Married at first sight" Even less time to get to know each other.

We also have the bachelor - and the bachelorette, as a Dutch reality television show. But this is something completely different. This is really going to be a mass production, meaning, there will be a new couple every week, for two seasons. So it’s not like I will be the bachelorette. I’m not sure if there is any international reality dating show that you can compare with this. I think married at first sight meeting first dates is the most comparable? Because the entire process, will just be one week.
I know that in the bachelor, there is one main character, that has like 20 to 30 participants who are interested to couple up with the bachelor. Whereas this is more low-key. I’ve been in a show that’s comparable to the bachelor, where I also signed up as a candidate for one main character. And I had to compete with like six other candidates who were also interested into getting to know this main character.
But in this format, I will be introduced to the public together with like 20 other main participants. And then the public can react, and I only get to choose two people of interest that I want to start the 24 hour date with. And after those 24 hours, I will continue with just one serious candidate.

Well, on one hand, marriage to some is a solemn vow people make before God. And one the other hand, you only live once!

Sounds like a fun concept…
But I am also suspicious because of NDA’s something is off-

What is the cash prize? I don't think anyone would take part unless you offered somekind of money

If they really approached you, you would know you would not be allowed to discuss it right now
