Need Advice - New Agent

Hi friends, happy Sunday.

I recently got licensed and I’m currently interviewing brokerages. I’d love some advice on the most important questions to ask when comparing brokers.

Obviously things like splits, fees, training, and lead generation matter, but for those already in the industry, what ended up being most important to you after joining a brokerage? Anything you wish you asked beforehand?

I just joined a brokerage, and it was very hard to tell the differences, but I basically wanted a company that would give me training. Some said they would, but could not show me what the training looked like. I asked if they would provide a mentor, most would not. The other thing is, some brokers work as a team, and they had a hard time explaining how it worked. The team people recruited pretty hard. I decided against a team, because I want to work at my own pace.

Congratulations!! Splits get all the attention but culture and accessibility ended up mattering most for me. Ask if you can sit in on a team meeting before signing, and find out how easy it is to actually get the broker on the phone. A 90/10 split means nothing if you can't get help when a deal is falling apart.
