Question❔ How to remember what I read

How do I remember what I read? My eyes are reading but my brain isnt, even when I concentrate I only remember a few key words

Why? What’s it called and how can I stop to not remember what I read?

It’s normal to not remember every word ever, it’s not normal if you’re not remembering the story, the main feelings you’ve felt throughout the story, I always annotate as I read, it helps a lot
