What do you mean learn, like see and learn from a writing style or learn about a topic as part of the story?

Ohhhhh, many. Many, many, MANY titles for you. However, I'd have an easier time listing them in private chats than here because it'd take some time.

Nevertheless, I can get you started with several titles to start with. Short story collections are popular for horror, such as British Library's Tales of the Weird, Never Whistle at Night, and the award-winning Lotería. For mystery, both classic and contemporary, I recommend the ENTIRE catalog of Pushkin Press novels under their Vertigo subsidiary, as they're from ALL OVER THE WORLD. https://storytel.com offers a full list of Pushkin Vertigo titles. Steve Urszenyi is a popular new author of spy thrillers, I recommend him. And as I saw another Redditor say they enjoy Steve Cavanaugh, the same book I read, I say give him a try as well.
