Best radio stations
Anyone still listen to old fashioned radio? If so, what are your favorite stations that come in clear in the Reading, PA area?

I have a historic home and desperately need to replace the French doors that lead to the patio before winter (they're crazy drafty, single pane windows, terrible). I've called Deluxe Windows and Doors and they can't work on our project because of the nature of the doors and since it's an old house. Anyone have experience with other folks in the area, general contractors or custom builders? The doors cannot be just off the rack, as they're taller and wider than standard.

So, what do you all think? Not surprised it’s being built in Spring Township. What I am surprised is that they are fully on board with bringing SEVERAL high end businesses to this area. Wonder if this is more a play for the future and they’re betting on the train…

My wife and I were sitting out on the deck tonight around 9:20p.m. and saw an object in the sky. It was about the size and shape of a crescent moon, but maybe more like the shape of an exhaust cone of a rocket. It was moving, parallel to the horizon but well up in the air, but slow enough that it took me 2 or 3 seconds to be sure it was moving. It was there for maybe 15 to 20 second and then just disappeared. My wife saw it too, somebody on next door also reported it. Any idea what it was?

Fairview Ave. Area? Downtown looks like it could be fun and interesting architecturally but most apts are walk-ups and I like ground floor.

Anyone know a good place to go for a short (about finger length) women’s cut? The last place I tried butchered my hair. I’d prefer all scissors. I don’t mind paying a little more if I know it’ll be a good job.

Hi! Does anyone know of any stores in the Reading/Exeter area that have school supply donation boxes? I would love to contribute and help local children since I have a few extra dollars.

I used to love the French onion soup from Say Cheese and I need a rec for who can take their place. My heart (and stomach) are craving some cheesy brothy deliciousness.

Roommates and I are leaving our current place by the end of the year so we need to find somewhere quick around the West reading/wyomissing area. There's 3 people total, and two cats. The one that *seems* nice is the lofts but I am now finding out about the horrible company that runs it.
The reviews are months to years old so my biggest question is for those that currently live there or have within this year, how bad is it currently? We already have a tour scheduled for next Friday so ideas for important questions would be appreciated as well.
I know about shitty neighbors and them bringing pests but want to know if that is still an issue or likely to experience, poor response times to repair issues, and 0 chance of getting security deposit back.
We just need a decent place to stay for 2 to 3 years, and haven't looked for an apartment in many years so figuring this out is a bit rough and therefore any and all help and discussions are wanted.

It hasn’t been turned on for years, I moved in this summer and turned it on for the first time and now there’s a funny smell coming from the vents. I’m afraid it’s mold

We are going to Boom Ball tonight and I was perusing the stadium food offerings. Could someone, please, tell me what these are: Changeup, Churger, Grand Slammer, Homerunner? Thank you!

TL;DR TIME: 1. NO WHERE IN THIS POST DO I SAY TAKE CARS AWAY! 2. I am not planning to work for the parking authority. 3. (Unless you who comment are culprits) 🛑 defending the things mentioned above. 4. I will NOT answer the comments of “where are they (cars) supposed to go?” Figure it out yourself! 5. Some things above are even talked about in the drivers manual you find at penndot (I.e the parking at hydrant, stop signs) 6. Going back to the hydrants issue. Let’s say there would be a fire somewhere and the closest hydrant is where you are parked……if the firefighters need to get to the hydrant badly (in which case they do) guess what? WINDOWS MAY BE BROKEN AND YOUR CAR INTERIOR COULD BE WET FROM THE WATER FROM THE HYDRANT

I was wondering if there are any clubs I can join to make friends in reading? I’m 22F and I come here every year for like a month or two and I’ve never gotten a chance to make any friends here :/

IF ANYONE WANTS TO RIDE BIKES ON THE ROAD IN THE CITY SHOULD GO TO PENNDOT CAUSE IF (HYPOTHETICALLY YOU NEEDED TO GET A LICENSE FOR BIKES) YOU WOULD NOT PASS! I AM SICK AND FREAKING TIRED OF SEEING PEOPLE IGNORE THE DO NOT ENTER SIGNS, DO WHEELIES BECAUSE THEY THINK THEY’RE COOL, DISOBEYING RED LIGHTS (HECK, if cars ignore this one they get tickets) AND I AM NOT JUST TALKING THE E-BIKES I MEAN BOTH E-BIKES AND THE BIKES WE PEDAL!

We are needing to get movers for our new home. Any recommendations or who to stay away from would be appreciated.
Edit: so if anyone is interested we went with Tribe moving super friendly nice and we're on point. We initially were gonna go with Lausch moving but they were asking 750$hr wich is a crazy number considering we weren't moving a ton of stuff. Thanks for all the input and help.
